Terrific app, major shortfall
I love this app and use it daily when I have internet connection. It has dramatically improved my pool of recognized characters, my reading comprehension, and even my speaking abilities.
Unfortunately, I often find myself without cell service for extended periods of time. The app doesn’t seem to work without connection and my progress is largely stymied during this time. Please add offline capabilities for this app and you’ll earn my five stars. Thank you for making mandarin learning fun and simple!

Best Chinese Flashcard App
I’ve tried many apps for Chinese flashcards, but most of them have too much fluff and unnecessary features. Chinese is mostly vocabulary-based so this cuts out the clutter and let you focus on learning the language efficiently.

- when i mark lots of words as known at once in large decks like hsk6, they all come back for review on the same day. makes for an exhausting review day
- it would be nice to have an option to only review words sometimes, instead of new words being front-loaded every review. that gives more time to digest words when i feel shaky on them

Brilliant app
Superb app. I have completely switched to this from Anki.

Great app for slowly growing vocab
Just wanted to say thanks, this app is really simple and invaluable for me, especially as someone who has some Chinese reading ability for simple words, but nothing beyond that. A lot of apps start from the basic of basics like 大小犳猫的好 etc. which I know, but have to grind through to reach words I don’t know. It has been frustrating being forced through modules of things I don’t need to learn. The ability to select “packs” lets me choose words I need to learn instead of wasting time reviewing basics. Thanks for developing this.

I wish I started this a year ago
I’ve been trudging through Duolingo for 570 days in a row. A month ago, I got fed up with my lack of “muscle memory” with the characters and found this app.
Now I’m able to “dissect” the sentences and discern meanings a lot easier.
I’m currently doing three packs, and finishing up Beginner Series 1, HSK 1 and Integrated Chinese. These together take about 20min a day total.
What I REALLY hope for is a level that doesn’t have the character, but a blank card with the sound. It will completely fill the gap that duolingo leaves.
Now I’m able to “dissect” the sentences and discern meanings a lot easier.

Great App
Just perfect for flash cards! They do traditional and simplified! And I had one issue where I couldn’t see the add the pack. The tech support was very responsive and professional! I give this 5 stars.

To the developers, please keep this app and its functions exactly as it is. Maybe some more word packs could be added, but I think even without adding any more it is great. I know some of the bad reviews complain that there needs to be example sentences and grammar notes and such, but I think those reviews come from very beginner, and maybe not even serious learners. Anyone who seriously studies should have enough grammar resources already and should be able to easily find usage examples for new words. This app is perfect for its intended use which is to just memorize new words. Adding all that other stuff will just make it another congested app and it will make it hard to focus on the original goal which is only to improve vocabulary. I love this app, it is by far the best vocabulary building app.

best review app for Chinese
I hardly ever make reviews on apps, but this is probably the most underrated Chinese app I’ve used. I love the interface and the way everything works, it’s nice. Thank you for your hard work, developers!
