Reviews of Meridian 157

  • Impressed

I enjoy this type of game, but often quit before finishing out of frustration getting stuck on an obtuse puzzle. This game has one of those — as other reviewers have said, the bridge/flag arrows one. But it’s the only one, there’s a solution for it right in these reviews, and I found all the other puzzles to be fair and just the right amount of challenge. Also there was one (only one!) item I needed help to find. The game was fun, moved at just the right pace, excellent graphics and sound. One star off for just how bad and out of character the bridge puzzle was. I’ll be buying the other chapters. If you like Myst type games, this is a good one.
  • Probably the best escape game I’ve played

This is a really amazing escape game series. I’ve played dozens, but this one is perfect for me.
The puzzles are challenging and fun, but absolutely doable. All clues etc are logical, no wild guessing needed. And it is absolutely possible to play through all chapters without help by just thinking logically, I still took a few hints (which are really useful). But looking back, I could have though a little harder and sorted it out myself.
    It’s a wonderful game!!
  • Hints not Helpful, Getting Stuck was Frustrating

I took one star off because I got stuck on the flag puzzle and the clue made it even harder because it made it seem like I was looking for a map or something 2D. I had to go outside the game for help because I think it was too obscure to be a fun puzzle for my skill level. Most of the game/puzzles were fun. It had a clear plot, intuitive screen layout, and it loaded quickly between scenes. My only other feedback is that 1. it would be nice to have a setting where the item case will auto-close after using an item. I had to keep manually closing it because it covered so much of the screen. And 2. It would be cool to see what you are looking at in the camera view when you take a photo, like a real camera.
