New version looks great but is very buggy
Love my Rise Garden and a big fan of their product. Family has had a great time growing all year long. The new app update has a much better layout and design, but is very buggy to the point it is almost unusable. Wish I could revert to old app until this version is stable.jhanifen

Update is Garbage
The new update is trash. It freezes constantly. I can't move plants from nurseries to the garden. The UI is AWFUL. I don't want to be scrolling for 800 hours to locate the spot in the tray I want to put a plant in. Already miss the old app which left a lot to be desired bit at least it worked.Nic Monty

I’m a newbie at planting so I’m not familiar with how to grow plants: when to water, add nutrients, harvest, etc.
I have the personal garden version to get started. So far, it’s been fun having it.
It would be really helpful if the app has a newbie setting or a notification setting for the following:
- when one of my plants enter different stages of growth
- when one of my plants may need pruning
- when to add nutrients
- when to check water quantity
- when to harvest
I’d love to be able to have more control on how long the pump can be on. Also, when the timer for adding nutrients to the water during care is running, the pump should be on to properly mix the nutrients in the water.
Also, some plants doesn’t adhere to the guide that shows up. There should be a way in the app to add some information and get some advice. For example, if a seed doesn’t germinate after 14 days, what to do: can it be recycled or is the seed dead? If a plant is late in its standard growth time, the plant schedule should be adjusted.
The knowledge base also needs to be updated when plants are ready to harvest. Having pictures or a “height range for harvest” would be extremely helpful. I have arugula growing and the app says it’s ready for harvest but it doesn’t look like it’s ready for harvest. Also, the app should have an option to cache plant information. This way, when I click on one of my plants in the garden or nursery, the information is readily available.
Furthermore, if algae starts growing on the pods, what to do to remove it? What to check ? How to prevent or mitigate algae growth when it shows up?
Another huge plus would be to have a “harvest combo.” Plant plants that you can harvest at the same time to cook or serve. For example, if you plant tomatoes and basil you can eventually make pasta caprése.
Overall, I’m loving the product. If I could offer some improvements: have a built in smart fan and smart humidifier would be a great plus or available as accessories. Also, have some accessories to make some kind of enclosure to make a mini greenhouse would be great. I’d love to have sensors to monitor temperature, humidity, and water pH built in to the system.Show lesscuriousjuliusc
Warning! Total piece of crap!
The system essentially is made of a (very noisy) fish tank pump connected to some plastic trays with blindingly bright LED’s on a timer. Even worse, is the shoddy construction and materials. The system leaks and parts are not fully alligned.TdameritradeChaseBank

I love my Rise Gardens system! I’ve been able to grow so many different types of herbs, leafy greens, veggies and even fruits! The best part is being able to grow fresh produce right in my house for my family and our chickens. I love being able to grow my food year round! The app is awesome and I love the reminders about then to add nutrients as well as water. Great addition to the garden
The app is a great way to plan, visualize, and maintain your garden! It has so much built in information that even if you’ve never gardened before, you will follow along very easily. The app let you know when it’s time to water, add nutrients, and even when it’s time to clean your garden! With adding some weekly readings from from the pH and EC sensor that comes with the garden, the app also let’s you know how much nutrients to add, taking the guess work of hydroponics out.
The app also keeps track of the plants age, estimates the growth stage and tells you what you need to do at each step along the way.
The app can also track plants you have in the nursery and is seamless to move plants around from nursery to garden or around in the garden itself.
And as if this wasn’t all enough, the app lets you know the health benefits of each plant and offers recipe suggestions!
Even as an experienced gardener, I appreciate all the app has to offer. Sometimes life is a little busy and having a notification to add nutrients to my garden in a nice reminder!
