False advertising regarding Calibre support
If you don’t have authentication you don’t support Calibre. Sending some message that it needs authentication is not very helpful if you don’t have a mechanism to support it….
No sync?
Sounded great. Apps for iPad, iPhone, and Mac. Supports OPDS. Unfortunately, each app is a silo when using OPDS. Even if you’re connecting to the same library, accounts don’t sync, books don’t sync, read status doesn’t sync.
Can’t Annotate
Missing basic highlighting and notetaking options. Would strongly prefer to have received a standard PDF so i can annotate and highlight.
Nice and simple e-reader
This is definitely one of the better e-readers I've found on the here. A lot of the ones I've used either have a horrendous UI, or the book formatting looks awful, but this app gets both of those things right and for that it deserves 5 stars.
Reading ok. Studying? Not so much
I was gifted a book in this format and , though I hate to download yet another reading app, l'm game. VERY disappointed that there is no way to highlight or take notes. Ok - not great - for reading fiction; practically useless for non fiction, especially in a learning or professional development environment.

Need an update
I would suggest to add editing options like highlighting and making notes on a specific paragraph or section. That’ll be very useful and will be standing next to other apps that have those features.
Review Update
I previously had an issue with look up and translation features for selected text. Since updating to the latest version, that issue has resolved. Cantook is working well for me to read in my target language.
Translate and Look Up Features Not Functioninh
I’ve been happily using Cantook (and before that Aldiko Next) as a fantastic tool for developing reading comprehension in French. In the latest update of my iPhone, the Cantook app no longer offers “Translate” or “Look Up” as options when the user highlights text. What happened to these features? I can highlight text on so many other applications on my phone, but not the one application where I rely on it most. I would love to know if these features could be put back into place and I’ll be back to reading!
