  • Better than D&D

This game has SO MUCH content! Each story is easily enough content to satisfy one game… By the end of chapter 3 of the first story, I knew purchasing all the content would be a good investment. However, $20 is a bit of a commitment for an all-at-once payment… you may get more sales if you divide the stories into separate apps, allow the first 1-2 chapters free, & then require a $3-$5 payment for the remainder of the story.

Anyway, one of the things I REALLY love about this game is the artwork! It is beautifully drawn & accurately depicts what is taking place in the story. Another great aspect to this game is how yes, all choices still follow the same-ish storyline, but choices you make don’t just affect the next page of the story, but are reflected throughout & can alter the story much further down the road. Definitely worth recommending to friends!

    Developer Response

Thank you for playing, your excellent review, and feedback! 😀
  • Fantastic read and play!

The writing is honestly pretty good, especially combined with the ‘Choose your own adventure’ style of campaign. The last chapter of the wizard saga was honestly my favorite so far (played that and a couple of the rogue ones so far), and would absolutely make for a hilarious and gory movie.

Got one of the deals for half off, and it’s absolutely worth the money so far even if the rest of the stories I haven’t played/read are crap. Definitely recommend if you don’t mind reading your stories.

  • Having A Blast!

I been following these stories for years and is one of the very few apps I keep on my phone. Just want to say I really enjoy the ring city universe and have really enjoyed each story. These stories have been read during storms, business trips, long waiting times , break times, lunch times and the list goes on. Bought premium a long time ago and hope anyone reading this will give the app and stories a solid chance.

The characters are interesting, the decisions matter, and stories did not always go how I thought (mean that in a good way). Finished all the stories and following ranger’s choice at the moment (can’t wait for next chapter!). Rouge’s choice had me laughing a bit I do admit. I can go on and on about wizard’s choice and demon’s choice, all of them but will spare everyone.

Would love to follow Gregor on his path some more. Will there be more with him?

Anyways, thanks for taking the risk and time to create all of this. It has been so very enjoyable!

  • Escapism at its finest

What’s not to love about a rouges tale? Intriguing yet funny characters, twists and turns, difficult decision making and plenty of choices to make you question your humanity or lack thereof.
Rooster is one of my favourite story characters, many times subverting the expectations of those around him and surprising monsters, humans and even gods with his resourcefulness.
    Great read

  • One for the ages

Brilliant, just brilliant. This will be appreciated by true writers and the avid to occasional reader. I personally dislike anything to do with magic as per my faith, so would’ve been nice if the main character was a witch hunting warrior! But alas, an opinion amongst many others none the less.
  • Wizard story line

    Good fun, great story.
  • Great writing!

Excellently written, unexpectedly the most enjoyment I’ve gotten from a mobile app of any probably ever. When I decided to take a chance on this app I had no idea I would end up easily spending hours absorbed in these stories. The descriptions are deliciously detailed, scenarios visceral and emotional! I like how the stakes feel higher with every chapter and you end up feeling the weight of every decision - the game is not predictable or a cinch in any way. Super fun and with some genuinely hilarious moments to unlock! Thanks to the devs.

  • Can words even explain?!?

I stumbled upon this a few days ago. When I realized it was a interactive decision based game- I was excited. I never played one and really wanted to do so for a long time. Within the first few minutes, I was addicted. Everything about the story telling, the decisions, the consequences- all of it, it was amazing. It takes a lot for me to spend money on a game but this took little to no hesitation. I will continue to play this game until the very end. Thank you!

  • Interesting format, but flawed writing.

I was really in the mood for a good chose your own adventure, and honestly? This really hit the spot. It’s engaging, the format is good, and it really feels like your choices matter. My main problem is the weird undercurrent of misogyny through the main storyline.
Anytime the main character meets ANY woman he feels the need to describe her “bosom.” One of the main villains is an evil priestess and even as she is literally trying to kill him he can’t stop describing how “alluring” she is.
In chapter one you have a merchants daughter added to your party. The main character belittles her both out loud and in his inner monologue CONSTANTLY and for NO REASON. He also keeps talking about how attractive she is despite the fact that she (spoiler alert) just got kidnapped and is mourning her dead father. This girl is cowering in a dungeon and the main character just keeps talking about her “delicate nose in the moonlight.”
Anyway, cool concept, mostly cool story. The weird misogyny of it is just so off putting that I don’t think I can continue reading. But hey, it was a good way to kill time for an afternoon.

  • Medieval Fantasy RPG is EPIC!

I have played D&D and other similar RPGs for almost ten years, now. They are some of my favorite hobbies snd pastimes. These kinds of games bring with them fun, excitement, whimsy, suspense, action, and even nostalgia. This interactive reader game brings all of that to the table. The story is immersive and intriguing, and the gameplay itself is simple. There are barely any ads. I only had one in the first chapter. Any other adds you watch are optional, and they give you a reward in-game. Overall, I love it, and I think any fan of RPGs or fantasy novels will, as well. Download it, and you will not regret it.
