Webber Connect
What a fantastic thermostat meet thermometer. The wi-Fi signal is very strong throughout the house. My phone will pick it up when I have it on the grill, which is about 40 feet from the main house. This device has freed up my time so I can focus on other cooking matters thank you very much.
Frustrating flaw
So I just finished 4 briskets and there is an design flaw with the app not retaining cook temperature history. I woke up to find out that the grill was out because of running out of fuel and I did not hear the alarm go off. Shouldn’t have been a big issue as the internal temperature of the briskets was been 150 and 160. So I added pellets and fireed the grill back up a to finish the cook, however because I had no way of knowing what the internal temperature go to before the grill shutdown I ended up drying out 2 of them.
Developers please add the ability to persist the last x number of cooks.

Great grilling +
Love this grill. Temp controls with all the burners is amazing … especially with the smart iPhone app and the temp probes. It is easier to cook steaks to the correct temp to please ma and more importantly my wife! Side burner is terrific as well.
Heats up faster than any other grill I have owned. It was over $1600, but honestly … well worth the investment!!

Great thermometer, app is lacking
Main thing is the app needs to let users save their own preset temps. Everyone likes steak at different temps. Older app did that which means this app is a step backwards. Bonus, would be great to be able to set multiple target temps b/c I like to turn/flip at certain temps along the cook.
I don’t use the recipes in the app. Would prefer just a good solid customizable thermometer app. That’s why I bought a thermometer and not a cook book.
Btw - wifi connection is amazing, but again, that’s the hardware, not the app.

When it actually Connects . . . .
Buggy.
1. Start up is painful. Will not automatically connect. Doesn't show a connection but shows the option to Disconnect. iPhone shows a Bluteooth connection but the app shows Offline. Will not recognize my wifi although the router is only six feet. Must manually connect.
2. After finally connecting all probes, Bluetooth and wifi, a temperature reading is displayed momentarily. Then Connection Lost message appears although my iPhone shows a Bluetooth connection and a router connection too.
3. After another repeated connecting effort, it may last for a while, until Bluetooth is lost showing Offline yet transmitting over wifi.
Definitely not Plug and Play easy although apparently accurate when all steps are shaking hands.

Not reliable at all
Multiple bugs continue to make this app and device completely unreliable. I had a temp set for 200* last night, app decided to randomly
Change it to 165* this morning. Thankfully, I already know not to trust this app at all so I’m continuously looking at the screen monitor rather than relying on any accurate push notification. Graph history was a cool new feature in theory but in reality it randomly loses all historical data, so hard to track temp averages, stalls, etc. I ended up buying an old school radio frequency one when the Weber failed to notify me in the middle of the night that the temps unexpectedly plummeted, and I had to throw away a $70 brisket.

Great graphs and range!
The app works great, and the range is excellent. I can still see the dashboard from my bedroom, 70 feet away and two concrete walls in between my grill and the room. I really like the charts, with the flexibility of viewing ALL temp probes at once.
My only suggestion would be to develop an Apple Watch app, similar to the iGrill (which I also have). You already have the platform to build it from.

Go to now grilling
Found the great timer grilling section; it’s no longer front and center. Go to now grilling, then touch the upper right hand corner ( circle with three dots). That brings up the add recipe and the helpful monitoring features.
