  • Glitchy and unfortunate

This app has some issues. Freezing up and getting kicked out of games while scoring. On average at least 5+ times a night. If you don’t have good service or wifi it causes a problem.
Some of our older players or tech knowledgeably challenged players will end up quitting because this is to overwhelming for them. This has also taken away from the social aspect for some of us that have to now keep score because others can’t.
Having to stare at a screen keeping score screws up my eyesight and can’t see to play pool. More work then fun…. Unfortunate👎🏻

Oh no! We're sorry that the app is not an improvement to your overall League experience. We've passed on your feedback to our team. Please let us know if you need any assistance at any time. We appreciate you taking the time to let us know.
  • Achieves minimum requirements

The app does the minimum. That said there are many ways this app can be improved for ease of use. There are certain quality of life items that can be adjusted, and mainly the editing of matches needs drastic improvement; lots of work-arounds needed.

If I can speak to the developers directly, I can provide feedback as well as QA

  • Nice, but some missed opportunities

Our leage just started using this and overall it's pretty slick as far as scoring goes. One note is that if you forget to mark table size, the app doesn't warn you before submitting scores.
However, the app leaves some to be desired as far as record keeping. The summary leaves a lot of things out, like the players' skill levels, exact points, and you can't see how the game progressed like you can on paper scoring. 8/9 on the snap or break-and-run is logged, but not shown in summary either.
APA could take a few inspirations from the excellent scoring app Pool Scoreboard, which will show you some nice stats at the end of a match, including progression to goal, max number of points in an inning, shot percentage, etc.

  • Painful to copy score from opponent's table

During our league play, matches are splitted on two tables. Normally each team is only responsible for scoring the matches played on their table. After all the matches is done, we need to copy the scores of those played on opponent's table. It seems the only way to copy them is to rerun the matches game by game to make the ball count right and edit innings and defensive shots. It's very time consuming. Hope there will be a function to sync score with opponent with permission check. Sometimes we just don't have enough people or devices to score both table.

Each team is responsible for scoring all matches. The app allows two different matches to be scored at the same time. If your team needs assistance with scoring we do have some videos on our youtube or you may contact us at (636)625-8611 x4508 to set up a specific time to go over app training. We're happy to help😊Have a wonderful 4th of July!
  • Better layout

Overall the app is good but the layout could be better, having a big empty white screen in the middle is useless. Expanding the top score line would help with readability. For 8 and 9 maybe put the selection of balls in that areas

  • Time Outs

We used it for the first time on January 3rd, 2024, and after getting through the initial start I found it pretty easy to use and score. We had two matches going and the only problem we ran into was when one match is in time-out you cannot go back to the other match to score. We had to have one of our other players open the app on his phone and take possession of the other match to score to solve the problem. As a retired computer technician I don’t see why this hasn’t been resolved yet since it was reported over 2 years ago. Let’s make this app perfect since all APA leagues are being forced to use it. Thank you.

  • Love it! I only have one issue.

I absolutely love this app. It’s so much easier then keeping score on paper. In fact I like it so much that I updated my iPad. 😄

That’s where the issue comes in. The app displays perfectly when in portrait view but when I turn the iPad to landscape view I can only see the bottom of the screen. The top half is blank. Once this issue is fixed the app will be perfect in my opinion. Great job on developing the app. 👍

  • Needs a bit more work

The Score Keeping app is a good first attempt. My first criticism is there is no app for a Macintosh laptop, only the iPhone and iPad. My iPhone has a small screen and is the constant victim of my fat fingers; I do not see why I should spend several hundred dollars to purchase an iPad simply to accommodate the APA.

Next, many of the players in my league are of a certain age where they are not comfortable with technology, the majority of whom have not acquired the app. That leave the few of us who have acquired the app to scramble in real time to get enough hands on deck to keep a true score for the matches.

What is missing is practice, a safe environment where the uninitiated can become familiar with the app without the pressure of making an error that can have real-world effects in real matches. I suggest writing a simulator application that mimics a realistic match between two fictional players. The user can pause the simulator to compare his stats with what the simulation has actually produced. With increased confidence, the team members will be far more open to contributing to the scorekeeping efforts.

    Thank you.

  • Easy to use

I find the app easy to use and pretty intuitive. The only time you have to think is on 9-ball when the players decide to use other balls after an early 9.

Would love to see a feature to keep track of fouls per player so teams can keep their scratch jars full😉

  • Not as useful as a physical scoresheet

I have to admit that the app is easy to use.
But it does not allow you to review any data on the individual matches as the game is being played. And after you submit your scores you no longer have access to any information about the match. I want more data than who won a match, how many individual games each player won and how many points were earned. I want to see how many innings there were in each game. I want to see how many defense shots there were. Eights on the break. Early 8. Scratch on 8. I want to see all of that data for each match. And we cannot. With the sheet system I would share this information with the team and we could refer to them whenever we can. And based on the layout of the app you can’t even take screen shots of all the information. It’s easy to use but isn’t plater useful in my opinion.
