The challenges are the best part! Keep at the game until you get the hang of it. It’s worth it!
  • Great fun

Good brain teaser, lots of replay. Challenging like ENYO.
  • Totally addicted!!!!

Some reviews say this game is too random which isn’t fair at all. They are confusing “random” with complex but totally predictable chain reactions (with 10% randomness as tiles change). I view it more as chess on steroids with a bit of luck based on what item is drawn once the previous one is used.

Challenge mode is really what has me addicted. It basically allows up to 10 players to compete against each other. Once the challenge is complete players are ranked based on:
    1) how many rooms they completed
    2) how many turns it took (tiebreaker 1)
    3) how long it took (tiebreaker 2)
These results then adjust the global, ELO based, rankings. I’m absolutely addicted!

P.S. To Daynger, you are a beast but I’m slowing coming for that #1 spot 😜

  • Good game bit of a learning curve.

I really love this game but it takes time to learn
  • It’s almost worth playing

The idea is amazing but the randomness of the tiles and their actions is disappointing. I can’t count the number of levels where it was impossible to get the cheese or it was immediately destroyed. Or when i’m close to running out of stamina and the tile i’m trying to move from keeps generating ice or a hook so I can’t actually move. And instances where the curse can destroy the key is just weird.

  • Not replayable

I love this mobile developer and have bought every game that they’ve put out there and loved them all. Maze Machina is actually very fun at first but once you beat it there’s nothing that happens which makes winning feel like a waste of time. I think if this game had some sort of objective or unlockable it would be a much better game. Something like in card crawl where you could unlock different dealers or heroes, or in card thief where different enemies start showing up as you progress. Maze Machina is just repeating the same thing over and over again; get the key, collect the cheese if it’s there, work your way around the 2 enemy types that are basically the same, go to the golden tile, repeat. There’s no variety whatsoever. I wish I could rate this higher but it just feels like it’s missing so much.

  • Has potential

Too many weapons. You just end up clicking around hoping to get the key, with no real strategy, even after doing the tutorial. The icon with the checkbox or x was never explained. Sometimes you die by a robot and you have no idea why. Sometimes the robots attack and sometimes they don't. Gave up on this after a day. Go get sinkr2 for a real thinking game.

  • Decent from a good dev.

This game is good and has some room for improvement. The developer has been putting out decent games for a while and this one doesn’t disappoint for the cost. There are some balancing issues with the primary game mode and I doubt it’s actually winnable given that the stamina mechanic is random and destroyed by the enemies. There seems to be some bugs in draft mode where the bonuses aren’t applied as their descriptions read.

  • Another brilliant Tinytouchtales game.

Every game this developer and his team have made are creative, adaptably challenging, original, endlessly entertaining, and visually stunning!
  • The best mobile developer’s worst game

Tiny touch tales is the best mobile game developer, and frankly one of the best game developers out there. So my two stars are possibly more informed by disappointment than the game actually being bad.

The core ideas at play are really great but they are executed poorly. In the game all of your weapons are decided by your position on the board. Every tile gives you a weapon. The only thing is, the tiles are entirely random. This causes everything to be confusing (not challenging). There are so many different weapons to learn that it become impossible to properly strategize. Rather than a couple of mechanics that can be combined in many ways, you get hundreds of mechanics that don’t really combine at all. Some of the weapon animations are a little slow for my taste as well.

I really like the concept of the game but I just think the core gameplay needs to be tweaked. Maybe make it so that only certain weapons show up on certain levels. Maybe scrap the randomizer and make each stage by hand. The game has great ideas, and I can tell the creator worked hard on this one, but It just needs to be a little more balanced.
