  • Awesome app

This App is awesome I’m able to track which zones I’m in during my workout. The new goals feature is cool because you can see your workout history, have the ability to set how many times per week you workout, and how many “points” you want to earn each week.

A neat feature would be to also include a goal for how many calories you want to burn per week.

UPDATE: I would also like the ability to pause a workout.

Thanks for the great review! Great suggestion about setting a calorie goal!
  • Best OTF alternative

I use to go to OTF but since it got too expensive I had to find an alternative way to exercise. I started running and found this app to be just like the OTF board. I love it because when I run I know exactly where I am. The only improvement in the future I would integrate is to motivate people is being able to use your points you earn for something. Like maybe a gift card or something.

  • My new default fitness tracking app

Updating given support reached out to me quickly to teach me how to track distance with the app (thanks!). Great app overall. super easy to use, love being able to see the zones even when I’m not at OT. It's become my default formed tracking app. I would still love to be able to see my distance during the workout when I've enabled distance tracking. Thanks!

  • Still double counting total calories burned

I love this app because it gives me the same data without having to wear the OTBeat strap. I did the recent update but it’s still double-counting my calories burned, which is throwing off my historical data for the Apple Watch. I’ll have to wait until this is fixed before using the app again. Otherwise I’d give this 5 stars!

  • When it works great, keeps signing out

My watch app keeps signing out of Apple ID- doesn’t happen to any other apps on my watch
  • Version 1.3.1 does’t work

I have Apple Watch series 2. After upgrading app version to 1.3.1, the app doesn’t work well. I noticed that while working out, the HR captured has a delay. I could be running at a really high speed and I can feel my HR going really high, but the app on watch shows I’m in the green zone. After I start walking when my HR goes really low, the app on watch shows that I’m in the red zone. I also noticed that the latest update says I can see workouts in the app on my iPhone under History. When I go to history, it doesn’t show my workout. The other issue is calories burned is not accurate after the update. At the end of a 60 minute workout it showed that I burned 1000+ calories compared to the exact same workout 2 days ago that showed about 550 calories. After the update calories burned seems to have doubled. Before the update the app captured HR and calories burned accurately.

  • Great App for going incognito at OTF

Anyone who loves OTF workouts but doesn’t need (or want) to see their name on the monitors or the linked to the screen above their treadmill should get this app. The display is easy to read with the critical information in large numbers. Coupled with the OTF color zones, you can understand your status with a quick glance. The end of the workout summary is fantastic - showing but time spent in the zones and a visual breakdown of of the workout by color.

It would be nice if future version would be able to have some customization of the display screen, even with a simple swap between actual heart rate and the zone %, but that isn’t a show stopper. Also, would be good if it could do more of the settings/set-up via iPhone versus only on the watch or at least have a walk through prompt set up, especially with the haptics (on/off).

Hey there @kemmott, you can now tap on the display during a workout to toggle between BPM and zone %. Let us know what you think! suppport@pkfitness.com Look for the ability to adjust settings on the phone in a future release!
  • Latest fix continuously asks for password

It was working great, but with the latest fix, it asks for my Apple password every time I want to use it. It takes a while to put the password into my watch. If I forget to do it before class, there’s no way I will be able to use it during class. Please fix.
  • Not perfect, but darn close

I’ve been using the Orange Zones app in tandem with my OTBeat Burn, and the app actually works more consistently than the expensive piece of equipment OTF pushes on members. While it occasionally has trouble connecting, I can usually get it to work by restarting the app and giving it a minute or two to pick up my pulse. Support from the developer has been incredibly responsive as well. On days like today when our studio wifi was sketchy, it’s so helpful to have the Orange Zones app vibrating on my wrist to let me know when I move into a different zone.

  • Not bad, not great.

Updated review as it seems the developer did not read my initial comments.

Connected my Apple watch to my OT Beat via bluetooth to see how the app compares to my OTF report. Made sure to put the same maximum heart rate and profile details. Results were similar, but not as exact as I expected. Having my heart rate coming from the same monitor while using the same zones, I expected closer results. This is while using the OT Beat heart sensor as the source for both my Apple Watch and the OT.

Also once Apple allows the "Always on Display" to be used by third parties this app will be even more useful. I may be in the minority who already have an OT Beat, though I wanted to see my stats while in the floor. For those who don't have access to any of the OTF heart rate monitors, this isn't a bad option.
