Serendipitous find!

I absolutely adore this app! It is my prized possession as of late! I was on the search a few months back for switches to be a more ethical and mindful reader. A reader I trust on booktok mentioned this app. The cute name and logo caught my eye so I decided to give it a try (and also wanted to help support a growing brown owned app)! Words cannot describe how much I love how organized and sleek the layout and user experience as a whole is. I love how the feed, book club, explore, and your profile are on separate sections so the app does not look cluttered nor overwhelming. I love we’re also able to filter the feed between “for you” and “following”. Speaking of filtering, I am so happy with how easily to tailor the notifications are. The bookclubs section and just ability to join bookclubs is my little reader heart’s dream come true. Again I cannot stress how well organized the layout is with different threads for chapters and ability to communicate with one another. As others have mentioned, the data stats are divine!! The 2024 wrapped is so insightful and so freaking cute!! Not to add, their is a cute holiday theme that gives you a holiday category! My only note would be I wish our lists were organized alphabetically (but that might just be a me thing). So grateful for this app like again words can’t describe how happy I am to finally have an app like this. Thank you developers and team!!

Best app ever made

This app is so underrated. It’s literally the best

Best app for books!

Absolutely love this app, I’ve ditched Goodreads and StoryGraph, because Fable just completely outperforms them for me. It’s a lovely modern app, easy to use and I love how the reading tracking appears. The book clubs are amazing on it, a fun way to read with friends. Highly recommend! Only thing I’d add is a feature to note whether you read books as a physical book/ebook/audiobook

Love Fable

I love using this app so much. I find it a lot easier to use then goodreads that I came from.
Really enjoy the streaks it motivates me to read more. The app itself is quite pretty especially in the stats section of your own profile.

Found the notification section after months of using the app. Maybe needs to give a little run down of what each section of the app does.
I do wish the search system was more cohesive. E.g. finding an authors entire catalog is impossible on fable alone.

Great, But Lacking Some Features

Fantastic UI, but needs a few things: 1) I definitely should be able to see my star ratings and edit them. I don’t know if my app is glitching, but I can’t find a way to do this anywhere. 2) Show if friends have read or rated a book when I’m on the book’s page. This seems critical for a social reading app. 3) Feed updates with friend’s reading progress. I have no idea what my friends are reading!! 4) Probably make the page tracking part larger or more central as it took me a minute to figure out how to track my progress. 5) I also feel like I should be able to click somewhere (perhaps on one of the yearly data tracking sections?) and be brought to a list of all the books I’ve read within the year. If this app is updated to include these features, it will be the clear winner as far as reading apps go! Hopefully it will be soon! 🤞

Response from developer

Hi There, Thank you for your thoughtful feedback! We definitely hope to implement some of these improvements in the next year. For the first one, you should be able to see your star ratings on the book cover images in your Finished list. If you click on it you can edit your star ratings. You can also do this from your Profile > Reviews tab. In addition, if you go to your Finished list and filter by 'This year', you should see all the books you've read within the year. If you are having any issues with these features or you have more improvements to suggest we'd love to hear from you! Please reach out to us at support@fable.co.

really good app but some improvements

I absolutely love the app and how aesthetic it is but when making posts I struggle to get people to reply to me or see my posts- is there a way to fix this/improve this? the improvements: 1. being able to view which books fall under what genre on the pie chart by clicking on the chosen genre. 2. sorting books by genre in library and by subject if possible.

As reality as it gets

I started this book last year and I just finished it now. Perhaps the long hiatus is what made me think that this was not my go to read book.

The friendship with Wonna and the four girls were rushed. But, I still liked it now that Wonna though it was not indicated clearly that she and her husband had divorced, I am happy that she has these four girls whom she can share news about her baby.

I like how the four girls were different in their own way. And they rely a lot on each other a lot more than they realized. They’re not your typical kind of friendships. No rainbows, unicorns, and happily ever after. Just four girls/women trying to get by day by day with their own way of living.

Not every life is all glitters, happiness, and light by the end of the tunnel. You can walk to the tunnel in darkness forever but the thought of reaching a light by the end of this darkness is something to hold on to and to look forward to. To push you to think that life can get better. But, that is not the case for everyone. Some lives were cut off and will be forever stuck in darkness and will be completely ignored and forgotten.

This is closest thing to a reality and the precarious of every life living in every corner of this world.

Needs more features

Love the idea of tracking books and tv shows in the same app. App can be improved vastly, it’s missing a lot of features.

Allow sorting or filtering by book release date, average review score, etc.

For each book, show the lists it’s part of. Currently, you can see which clubs it’s part of but not the lists. The app can get very popular if you can look at other people’s lists and find similar books that way (like Letterboxd).

Make author profiles that are linked from the book page and allow people to discover other books the author has written.

I like the Tinder style swipe left and right book recommendation view. Please allow people to swipe within lists/collections too! Same for TV shows.

Also not sure how to check if my profile is private or public.

Great app!!

Fable is free and I love the app so much despite downloading it only days ago. There are so many personalised attributes and so many clubs and people you can connect with. Wonderful app for all readers out there
