Switch seamlessly from reading your Kindle book to listening to the Audible book, all within the Kindle app. • Get notified when authors you love have new releases. Reviews of Amazon Kindle

Some relatively minor improvements please

I mostly like the app. The fact you can’t purchase books in-app is a nuisance but I barely notice most of the time. My biggest requests are 1) specific to the app: please please please can the ‘read’ be a banner like the new or sample across the corner of the book so I can see my progress on rereads without marking them as unread each time? And 2) across all of Amazon/Kindle: can it be made possible to block an author from results? An opposite of following, something similar to YouTube’s not seeing someone in your suggestions. There are authors whose writing I really dislike, but I read enough it’s hard to keep track mentally to avoid them, and they write genres I read a lot of.

My Favorite Reading App!

If you’re an iOS user you really should check out All the features that are provided within the Kindle app. There’s so many features that I find very useful. I used to order books and I would highlight, tab and write notes on the pages of my books - but then what to do with the books once read . I mean sure you can give them away, store them, stack them etc but I have none of those issues now because all my books are saved in my virtual library. Which is fabulous for travel!!
Getting back to taking notes and tabbing pages (bookmarking) I still do that now but it’s all part of the wonderful features available within Kindle; I can take notes, highlight (assorted colors), I can bookmark, select passages to save or I can easily Share passages with others! There’s also a dictionary feature within the pages so if you’re not familiar with a word you can instantly look it up.
There’s many other features as well including whispersync which makes it seamless to pick up the story on Audible at the same point where you left off in Kindle, so you can switch between the two effortlessly!! Oh, I forgot to mention that even if you don’t use Audible, Alexa can read your books to you!! Try Kindle, it’s magic!!

Kindle is a Must Have for Avid Readers!

I have been using the Kindle app for many years - first on a stand-aloe kindle and now on both a laptop and an i-pad. The seamless experience of purchasing a book is incredibly satisfying - just a few taps and the book I want is available on my device. No more waiting for deliveries nor making trips to the bookstore or waiting for library queues. This saves me time and hassle. One of the standout features for me is the ability to click on a word and instantly get its dictionary meaning. This has been a fantastic tool for improving my vocabulary without interrupting my reading flow. It's these thoughtful features that make the Kindle app not just a reading platform but also a learning companion. Additionally the convenience it offers is incredible. I travel a lot and instead of lugging around heavy books, I can simply bring an iPad wherever I go. Whether traveling, commuting, or just relaxing at home or on the beach or near a pool, I have an entire library at my fingertips,, which is so liberating. Overall, the Kindle app has transformed my reading experience. I highly recommend it - even to those who need that feeling of "turning the actual physical page". You won't be disappointed.
