HUGELY INCONVENIENT
WHY CANT WE BUY FROM THE APP THE BIGGEST THING MISSING!!! Seriously you have to open your laptop or kindle if you see a book you like can’t even download FREE books! It’s an ok app but not the best e-reader app out there as it’s missing a few key features like a button to skip the the next chapter (sometimes I want to skip sexy scenes) every other e-reader you can press a button and it goes forward this you have to to press back for it. After getting my fire tablet I’ve brought a lot of kindle books and have sorted them all (500+ books) into collections some under author some under type of book but when I load this app they aren’t in order there’s no collections so it’s harder to find the book I’m reading coz it doesn’t seem to be there and I have to search for it. This lack of sharing among devices lets it down. I have spent days sorting it out the last thing I want to do is do it all on here. Especially as these personalised settings aren’t saved anywhere and if my fire stops working I’ll have to do it again. In order to be better next chapter button should be added and settings and collections should be saved and shared among devices to save time.

Some relatively minor improvements please
I mostly like the app. The fact you can’t purchase books in-app is a nuisance but I barely notice most of the time. My biggest requests are 1) specific to the app: please please please can the ‘read’ be a banner like the new or sample across the corner of the book so I can see my progress on rereads without marking them as unread each time? And 2) across all of Amazon/Kindle: can it be made possible to block an author from results? An opposite of following, something similar to YouTube’s not seeing someone in your suggestions. There are authors whose writing I really dislike, but I read enough it’s hard to keep track mentally to avoid them, and they write genres I read a lot of.

My Favorite Reading App!
If you’re an iOS user you really should check out All the features that are provided within the Kindle app. There’s so many features that I find very useful. I used to order books and I would highlight, tab and write notes on the pages of my books - but then what to do with the books once read . I mean sure you can give them away, store them, stack them etc but I have none of those issues now because all my books are saved in my virtual library. Which is fabulous for travel!!
Getting back to taking notes and tabbing pages (bookmarking) I still do that now but it’s all part of the wonderful features available within Kindle; I can take notes, highlight (assorted colors), I can bookmark, select passages to save or I can easily Share passages with others! There’s also a dictionary feature within the pages so if you’re not familiar with a word you can instantly look it up.
There’s many other features as well including whispersync which makes it seamless to pick up the story on Audible at the same point where you left off in Kindle, so you can switch between the two effortlessly!! Oh, I forgot to mention that even if you don’t use Audible, Alexa can read your books to you!! Try Kindle, it’s magic!!

Kindle is a Must Have for Avid Readers!
I have been using the Kindle app for many years - first on a stand-aloe kindle and now on both a laptop and an i-pad. The seamless experience of purchasing a book is incredibly satisfying - just a few taps and the book I want is available on my device. No more waiting for deliveries nor making trips to the bookstore or waiting for library queues. This saves me time and hassle. One of the standout features for me is the ability to click on a word and instantly get its dictionary meaning. This has been a fantastic tool for improving my vocabulary without interrupting my reading flow. It's these thoughtful features that make the Kindle app not just a reading platform but also a learning companion. Additionally the convenience it offers is incredible. I travel a lot and instead of lugging around heavy books, I can simply bring an iPad wherever I go. Whether traveling, commuting, or just relaxing at home or on the beach or near a pool, I have an entire library at my fingertips,, which is so liberating. Overall, the Kindle app has transformed my reading experience. I highly recommend it - even to those who need that feeling of "turning the actual physical page". You won't be disappointed.

Best thing that I have ever subscribed to
I am 82 years old. I have always, while leading an active life, read a lot. My bookshelves were for ever growing until I ran out of wall space. Kindle has solved my problem. Easy to research. Easy to buy or to use Kindle Unlimited. I read and order on my iPad or iPhone wherever I am and read with devices synced. Kindle has the huge benefits that books are stored on my device, I can sync with Audible, look up words an definitions while reading, and read whatever the lighting conditions. I do read hard copy books too but I miss the ease of reading with Kindle and swiping the page to turn over. To know with Kindle the time left in chapter and book. Notes and highlights that I have made to be easily reviewed later. I do understand the romance of holding a hard backed book in its dust jacket but over time the practicality of Kindle read on my iPad wins out.

Over 1,000 books in the palm of your hand
I got my first kindle seven years ago, and it changed my reading experience. I can now travel the world, and still have English speaking books with the push of a button. Since I bought the one with 3G incorporated, I don't even need a valid Internet connection. My reference books are always at hand wherever I am. Whether I'm on a Kindle, or using the free Kindle app for iPad, iPhone, or the computer, my notes are always available (on all devices with the Kindle app installed) thanks to Amazon's free cloud service. If I want to revisit a favorite novel, it's right there with me even on a trans-Atlantic flight where sleep might elude me. If I want to add a new book to my collection, it's just a click away. I was on a road trip through France with a group of Italians. The young girl traveling with us was bored so I pulled out my 3G Kindle, did a quick search of Italian books at her reading level, and downloaded a book we could read together. My Italian improved and the time flew by. In short, having a Kindle or Kindle app installed on your device is like holding 1,000 books in the palm of your hand. Plus, I don't have to dust off bookshelves. Or throw out old books to make way for the new.

Indigenous Research
I am into my last phaser of the Dissertation for an Interdisciplinary PhD and absolutely love the Kindle books. I can read on my phone when travelling or waiting during line-ups, and highlighting key texts to copy and paste for later reference is an absolute game changer. The different colors with the highlighter allows me to make themes which I can access for later paraphrasing. Best of all, I can place onto my i-pad, purchase a microphone stand with an ipad hollder and read on my exercise mat for comfort as my back needs a break from sitting during long reading sessions.

A great app!
Kindle is so convenient and useful! You can buy the books and read them and all you need is a device! Buy books with a single click. I can read samples too! I read kindle like 3 hrs a day. I can’t help it though. The books are all so great and it will recommend new books and track how much you have read this year. I have read about 135 books so far. I LOVE READING! Kindle is the best app ever. You can change how big the words are in novels, you can even do page animations which will make it seem like you are actually flipping through the book! I love that experience. You won’t have to worry about losing books. Just keep the I pad safe!
Sometimes it glitches though. Like that one time it glitched and I lost all my downloads but it still took up 11gb! I had to delete the app and reinstall it. Annoying.

Amateurs
Wow, I have been on a journey in Beth’s mind and I feel like I’ve taken a few paths in my own too. It wasn’t planned, but I binge read this immersive experience of a novel. In theory being in the mind of a musical prodigy should have felt alien to me, but I felt at home as she uncovered layers within herself and others. I accompanied her through confusion and some discomfort when certainties were no longer certain.
As Beth reluctantly accepts new experiences which lead her to the new and unexpected, without being conscious of it she is an amateur in a new version of her life. We are immersed in the labyrinth of Beth’s mind and feel she is skiing off piste and gaining personal enlightenment - the Frost poem comes to mind and you wonder which path she will take.
I want to say so much more, but each reader will want to make their own interpretations - something that makes this novel not just a really good read, but also an intellectual exploration.
