I like the idea but it feels a bit like a money grab. So basically I pay $7 for a virtual art toy that I can see through my phone for 7 days. I get that it’s like I virtual own it and that’s fun but the price is too high for a temporary AR object.
The global exhibitions are a cool idea but only in a few cities. I’m on the west coast of the US and was hoping there would be one in LA, SF or Seattle. Nope.
I enjoy the thinking and see a future for it. Imagine a marketplace where I can AR my life with artist work. Maybe a pay app with Juxapoz or something. But not at the $ levels Kaws is working with here. Doesn’t even include like a 2-day free piece to get used to the idea. Deleted the app after about 5 mins.
