  • eCards Get Deleted

I purchased the e-cards for my highest certifications last year, but because I’m more or less a seasonal a diver, I didn’t access the app for several months. My phone automatically offloads apps I don’t use for a long time, so of course when I re-download and re-login so I can dove at a resort this past week, my e-cards were gone!! And now I have to pay 52€ PER CARD to get another one??

Easy fix would be to add Apple/Android wallet support like the rest of the planet…but now. PADI has to have one more way of sucking you dry. Utterly ridiculous. Otherwise it’s a useful app.

  • Mr Mac

Just getting back into diving after a long break. I Freakout when I couldn't find my dive certification card. Started the process of replacing it and kinda hard to locate the information. Padi website ran me around in circles a few times and it comes down to paying the piper and all your dreams may come true. Well, I paid my $65 plus dollars and finally received an E-Card. Web site fairly difficult to navigate it could use some more work.

Well, now I'm ready to get wet again and enjoy the sport I spent four years diving twice a week. Lots of fun and looking forward to the splash.
  • Don’t buy an eCard - Worse than Worthless

Unable to access eCard or logbooks - tried multiple days on multiple different networks and browsers. Literally worse worthless as it cause days of frustrations while having zero utility or benefit. What’s the point of an eCard if you can’t access it? Save your money.
  • Must Have for PADI Certified Divers

I love this app. It is so useful. I like that you can review a lot of important training information. I also love the Diver Log. Not to mention the ability to book a getaway! How Fantastic is that!
  • Worthless? Almost worthless?

I’m logged in to the PADI app. The details are correct; email login is correct. My eCards are not there, and my logged dives are not there. When I look for the eCards, I get “Oops! Something went wrong…” This happened in the last version and still, after the current update. When I use the app menu to check, I have to log in again, through a web type of portal, and my cards are all there. When I click “done” and return to the app, they are all missing again, although I appear to be logged in still - my email login is still listed. Completely useless, really, as a place to store downloaded eCards to use offline when remote. What’s the point of using this or paying for eCards when it either does not work at all, or the interface is bad enough that an intelligent person can’t use it?

  • Great app but needs wallet support

This is fantastic, having a digital card is extremely convenient. The only thing I am knocking a star off for is no Apple Wallet support as it would be nice to add the digital card without having to open the app every time
  • Has everything I want in a logbook, but missing some easy things that you’d expect from an app

Love all of the info that this app collects - it’s fantastic and thorough. However, there’s and opportunity for more functionality that’s pretty commonplace in apps that could be added:

1/ being able to tag each dive by city or town location. Often I want to go back to see what shop I used when I return to a specific place.

2/ and if tagging dives by location, the ability to filter on it. In fact, the ability to filter at all by key inputs, including location, salt/fresh water; etc.

3/ if you can get your training dives verified by your instructor, the same functionality should exist for “stamping” a dive with a dive shop.

I hope these things make it onto the roadmap!
  • Logbook has bugs

I would rate this 5 stars as it is easy and intuitive to use but the log book has some bugs.

When I enter the date of my dives, it keeps submitting them to my instructors as the day before which is frustrating and causing instructors to not verify my dives. Very disappointing.
  • Doesn’t us the whole screen

The app only uses about 85% of the screen on my iPad, which makes no sense. It makes it a chore to read Undersea Journal, even with the zoom. Every other app I use for reading something fills up the whole screen. I don’t under this.

It also takes way too long to download and open one issue of the magazine. Other magazine/book apps are much faster with much greater page counts.

  • No Info on Saved eCards?!

I’m not able to save my e-card to my wallet bit even if I could, it’s useless. No picture and no cert number. There is no way to verify the card belongs to the diver or record the cert number unless you are on the live app. This is a serious problem if you are in a place with no mobile service (a common occurrence at many dive sites). In addition PADI will no longer be providing physical card included with their certifications. You can order them for an ADDITIONAL FEE! Shame on you PADI. If you’re really doing away with cards to help keep plastic out of the environment, then at least provide an e-card that dives can use outside the app. So disappointed.
