What a fun game. Thanks for making it. Keep up the good work. Any chance we could add a setting to make the rally point only apply to new units?

Response from developer

Hi Marty, Thanks for your kind review! I am working on an update which includes a “Guard” button for knights which causes them to ignore the Rally Point. Hopefully this will help. I hope to release it in the near future once I have completed some new content I am working on for the next release. Thank you for playing, Andy

Addicting

Very simple which I think is fun only thing I would want to change is for there to be an option to turn off holding to mark a point that screws me over. Something I would like to see is for people to have capitals with different look exc. and allowing more cpu in skirmishes. Maybe more levels, level 10 is ridiculous I can’t seem to beat it. Walls would be cool to build around your cities maybe if that’s jus for capitals. I think little add ins and updates every so often would keep me interested if there’s something new. Great game tho!
Quick add on as I’ve been playing I’ve realized I would really like the option to make multiple points it’s really hard to micromanage the entire map at once trying to keep people in place.

Love this game!

No more glitches or freezes which seems to have been the previous problem, it’s cute, fun, pretty addictive and like other people say only thing it could do with now adding in some extras to make it harder/ make strategy more interesting! But overall great. More levels please! Also loving the little ditty for the soundtrack ; ) Thank you from a happy customer!

Nice

Nice, simple game.

The ‘free’ portion consists of 12 scenarios (called ‘quests’), in which you need to build forts near resources, and use the units that are created by them to overthrow the Computer’s units. Each scenario probably takes about 10 minutes.

Not sure what ‘skirmish’ (the pay time play section of the game) does, but it’s be neat to play against friends if that’s not already been implemented (though this would ideally not be behind a pay wall, so that it’s accessible to the whole group of friends).

Would be great to see more quests, too. Potentially adding more resources.

Updated review

I made a review previously and I was quite aggravated so here is a better and more constructive review.

The tutorial doesn’t explain the controls or game very well, and buttons need labels. The troop rallying isn’t explained very well so it ends up that all troops converge on one point. When this happens it makes it impossible to fight on multiple fronts. By the time I move from one front to the other, the first fronts troops are already walking across the map to get to the rally point. If it was better explained on how to make specific troops rally at specific points, that would be very helpful. I’m on the last few levels and still haven’t figured out how that works.

The game is very enjoyable, I just can’t figure everything out which makes the game frustrating. I love the idea of allowing the rest of the game unlocked with the option of free with ads or paid. It’s nice to have access to the first half ad free and the second half paid for or with ads. Overall, I enjoy this game a lot and would love to see it expanded and improved. Thanks so much!

Hey RandomDalmascan, Thank you for your review. I am certainly planning on reworking the Rally Point, a lot of feedback reference the issue you describe with difficulty fighting in two areas since only one Rally Point is currently supported. I am also looking at being able to order a knight to remain in a certain location. I will revisit the tutorial and see how I can improve it, if you have any more specific feedback here please let me know, I am keen to improve. I am working on adding more info in the game such as castle and unit stats and I hope this will help too. Thanks for playing, Andy

Worth checking out.

(Original post)”The game is simple and fun... but has a lot of issues. Enemy, ally and your own troops have terrible pathfinding and get stuck on each other, not being able to pass through allied troops. The game starts off easily enough and slowly gets more difficult, until you hit the paywall. Once you hit the paywall and have to watch ads, the games difficulty ramps up considerably. You can merge troops up to for times, to have an four star army. Yet, I’ve seen numerous times where your own four star troops get wrecked by one star enemies! Play for a few stages and then delete.”

Updated Review: Game balance has been fixed and you don’t get stomped by inferior army. Pathfinding has improved, but still has some issues. Chests randomly spawning in the world add a welcomed randomness and exploration incentive.
I deleted this game and forgot about it. The dev actually responded to me very first review and I decided to give it a second look and I’m glad I did. Thank you to the dev and I even bought the game instead of playing free. Good job and keep up the work, you have something special that can get even grander.

Hey Savvy Trump, Thank you for your feedback. The latest update fixes a number of these issues. It includes difficulty balancing on the later levels, better path finding and improved battle odds which are now related to the number of units fighting. This makes it much harder for a level 1 unit to go on a crazy rampage. There is also a new “Treasure Chest” item and a bunch more improvements and fixes. I hope you will give the game another try! Please let me know if you have any more feedback. Andy

Good fun

Fun game. Worth the cost for skirmish. It would benefit from having some more detail to the buttons in game. That way it’s easier to understand which buttons do what for new players.

Maybe even a faster collection rate or territory expansion upon castle upgrades. Not that it would be entirely necessary.

Could definitely use a health bar for the knights though. That way you don’t blindly send in troops to be killed that would be more useful some where else.

Having more than 9 land blocks to lay down at a time would also be helpful, but as the product rate increases in the late game I’d say it’s not absolutely necessary either. It would definitely be convenient though to speed up expansion in the mid game.

Overall a worthwhile game, and excellent way to kill time.

I will update my review in the next big update. (If there is one)

I really like the concept of this game and I really want to see how it grows but, there are a lot of things that I find frustrating and somewhat annoying for example: the navigation system, I like that there’s a zoom which allows you to see more of the map but I find it very annoying that all to controls disappear the game lets us see too little of the of the map which makes it harder to play and the controls seem like they are all Cramed together which makes it even harder to see and when you try to zoom out all the controls disappear and you can’t see how many recourses you have. I think that one way to resolve this issue is to allow the player to “pinch” to zoom in and out while still keeping the resource indicator. This is one of the biggest issues.
To sum it all up I think that this game will be a lot more fun if these issues get fixed and I hope that my opinion is helpful and if you actually read through all that great job :) (it ended up being a lot longer than I was thinking sry).

Thanks for your feedback, it is very useful. I have recently published an update which keeps the UI on screen while zooming (this can be done by pinching in and out or using the zoom button). There are also a bunch new levels and features. I hope you will give it a try! Please let me know if you have any more feedback :) Andy

Awesome concept

Very simple version of an Advance Wars type strategy game but the real time aspect is very fun. I wish I could make units occupy forts and I hate that my idle units all gather on the rally point. Sometimes you want to set a rally to a choke point but when all idle units converge on the same bridge and can’t walk over each other, it makes for a frustrating puzzle trying to maneuver around your own units. Look forward to seeing how this game advances.

Unfair

It is a good game at the beginning and then once you get to level five there are so many enemies that you can have enough time to even get your own guys on the field. Then the randomness of the battles always goes in favor of the enemy. Its like twenty percent of the time that the player wins and the other eighty other percent always goes to the A.I. When it comes down to you having a level four base and the A.I. having a level one guy the A.I. will usually win. Then when you have a level four guy and the A.I. has a level one base they will most likely win that battle. Then if they have the same level guy as you they will win.
