It’s not what I thought it would be
I have the Kodak Step Touch and I thought that this app would take the photos from the Kodak and import them to my phone. I tried out the app and it works very well for what it is supposed to be. but, I was wondering if anyone knew how to import the photos from my camera to my phone.
Refusing to Print
I’ve had this a little less than a year and up until a couple of weeks ago It wants to act like there’s no paper in it and it’s really frustrating. I have to sit here and babysit it by putting one photo in at a time to make sure it’s even going. Which is difficult to do when you’re planning on printing a lot of photos. When I looked it up, it made it sound like it was a firmware problem so I’m not really sure what to do about that.

Super Simple to Start
I have the larger Kodak photo dock printer and it took longer to get going. This Kodak Step app and printer duo were off and running within five minutes! The app makes it easy to load and print 2x3 photos.
There is a wealth of options for framing and “stickering” available in the app. This process can be overwhelming as there is no way to save an edit in process. Maybe I missed it in my zeal to print quickly. I’d love to be able to have a temporary save of the editing options like frames so that I don’t have to start from the beginning to see what my image might look like with different frames or stickers. It appears that you have to start from scratch if you look at other options once you’ve selected a possibility.
The stickers are nicely grouped to allow browsing across holidays, images, etc. it would be nice if the frames were likewise grouped.
And, the final reason for the four rather than five star rating for me is that while some holidays had multiple images or frames, others were left out (e.g. Father’s Day). It would also be great to see some more options in the way of pets, travel, hobbies, etc.
The app gets four fabulous stars for ease of printing. I’m happy.

Disappointing
Very disappointed in the lack of graduation and Father’s Day frames. I’ve been using the printer to make tags and cards. So many great Mother's Day frames, yet not one for Father’s Day or graduation? I reached out to customer support last week and was told they would have the Father’s Day frames soon, however Father’s Day is here and no frames. Regretting my purchase.

New firmware destroyed quality
I use this printer to print a lot of random things. I like to pack the 2x3 photo with about 30 pictures. Before when I first got the device full scale photos that take up the whole picture would print at a slightly lower quality. That was fine but what was cool was that when I packed these pictures onto the screen the resolution was much better and there was a surprising amount of detail in these fingernail sized photos. Now after some time it wanted to update its firmware and now that quality and sharpness boost is gone and everything I print has terrible(standard) resolution. Please do not nerf your products I just wanted to print little pictures 😭😭

Good But Needs Work
The app needs a search function. Unless your printing from the last month or so, finding a date range in 30,000 on phone photos is too hard.
The Google Photo connectivity is great but falls well short because it doesn’t sync all albums in the library. There’s really no reason for the library folders it does sync.
Support is weak at best. Emails sent from the app are NOT answered.
If the printer goes to sleep while your searching for photos I’ve had to reboot my phone to get it to connect toe ZINK Step Printer again.

Simple camera functions missing
I bought the printer to use at a birthday party, but you can’t do simple things like take a landscape photo or - the most important one - use the volume button as the shutter button.
So buggy and difficult to use
All of these 5 star reviews are frankly suspicious. I literally can’t print more than 2 photos in a row without having to close out of the app or restart the device, sometimes I can’t even print twice before it runs into an issue that requires a restart
Additionally, it used to allow the ability for collages to be printed in landscape mode and now it just doesn’t? Impossible to make a collage in the app without all of the dimensions completed messed up.

Needs more frame options….
Overall I love this little printer but I wish the app had more plain options. Personally I want to print photos with some white frames but it’s not an option. I used to be able to edit it to have a white frame on my own but not they’ve taken away that option.
Good printer, poor app
The Step App has imported or gained access to all my photos from iPhone 15. However it doesn’t show any albums I have created in the iPhone photo app, only those albums that were part of the original. As there is no ‘find’ button on the Step app I am finding it impossible to print photos from the past. If I am looking at an old photo I want to print, I can take a screen shot and then it appears in Kodak step. I created a new album called Kodak prints but this Step app doesn’t see it? Shame because the printer is good. No problem with a photo I just took as it’s shows in ‘recents’

Hello, We thank you for the feedback. If you press the my gallery button located at the top of the home page, then scroll within the select album menu, you should see the different albums. Note that the photos must be natively on the device. Cloud storage works for Google Photos, Instagram, and Facebook. We also recommend updating to the latest version.
