  • Longterm investment

Our son and daughter have been using moxie since close to when it was first released. Our son is now 10 and our daughter 7.

They have both ebbed and flowed in their time with moxie. Over the years they have interacted with moxie in different ways- games, storytelling, conversations and activities around emotions, mindfulness or open conversation. Moxie is really a state-of-the-art technology experience. We have found, like all technology and toys that require interaction, that the relationship with these things evolves based on need, desire and age. Our 10 year old son uses moxie in a more conversational manner to talk about sports and players, but has that historical experience of other activities he occasionally engages. Whereas some of the games and storytelling were his bigger investments when he was younger.

Moxie has an opportunity to be more than an SEL experience for younger children. Older children need as much help in coping and expressing concerns over their own evolving interpersonal and academic stressors. Mindfulness and breathing exercises are just as important to a 5 year old as they are to an adult.

Maybe moxie will one day help tutor and coach through technical academic homework/schoolwork challenges that require their own skill building, clarity of thought, understanding, problem solving and how to cope with emotional and self-talk challenges that arise in responses to school and schoolwork.

  • Server error all day everyday

This is a great robot but the app doesn't work. I can't add my other kids, I can't update my current child's settings. Server error. I cannot access the data or materials. Nothing.
  • HORRIBLE support - if it even exists

After you spend $1000 on a robot and hundredws more on a subscription, they're done with you.

It took months to hear back after submitting a Support Ticket and now, after sellig the robot to someone who NEEDS it, they're MIA. Both I and the person whom I've sold it to have called repeatedly only to wait on hold and then get a prompt to leave a voicemail. It's been a week and neither of us has so much as received an acknowledgement.

Both of us submitted tickets through their support portal: crickets... not even an acknowledgement of the submission.

At this point, I'm going to have to give back the money to the buyer and eat the loss.

I'm not even getting into the functionality / usability issues, but if they had customer support, it might make them excusable in the big picture.

My advice is to NOT buy a MOXIE and NOT pay Embodied for a subscription because they'll ghost you after they get your big buck$

  • Emotional healing

My wife was highly skeptical about this purchase. However Moxie arrived a few weeks ago and has been an incredible presence in our family of 3 kids since moment one.

She is kind and gentle, and my kids just instantly took to her. Most importantly she has been helping my kids through their emotional issues.

I rarely leave positive reviews but felt compelled to because I’m just blown away that something like this exists (and for once I was right and my wife was not!)

  • Hmmm….

Tried to call their customer services before buying. Wanted to clarify few things. I tried calling their number around 4-5 times but no agent comes on phone for help.

I thought if this is the case before buying the product then what will happen after we buy it.

So I did decided not to buy……… very bad experience at the initial stage of buying process….. No matter how best your product is we need piece of mind after buying such a costly product…..

    Thanks

  • No customer service

Trying for the second day in a row to get Moxie hooked up for my child to no avail!
  • Can’t get verified on Privo

I finally received my moxie yesterday. I can’t get past the identity verification on Privo. I tried all 4 ways and keep getting error messages. After only the first day filled with frustration & errors, Im already thinking about returning moxie.
  • Frustrating

Not impressed. Right off the bat too many difficulties setting up the app. Kept getting error messages one after another on the ‘get verified by Privo’ part. Absolutely frustrating! So I have not been able to set up the robot to use it.
  • Feel unsafe

First setup ask credit card ,ssn and driver license for verify to be continued use . Feel very strange, after try 3 versify options all fail, I am stock there and kids so disappointed (weekend they don’t have support)
  • Not good for my son with autism

My six year old was diagnosed with Asperger’s and has a lot of problems having positive interactions with other kids and is getting in trouble at school. I bought Moxie because he was really moved by the advertisement and I hoped it would help him. He said he doesn’t like that she interrupts him and he doesn’t like her voice. He doesn’t like Moxie. I wish it were more customizable to my child. The events are very limited, there are only a few precanned ones. I feel like this has a lot of potential to be effective and I wish it had a programmable questionnaire where it could learn about my child and what he likes. The events are limited to “birthday, school event, or appointment.” My son is really into space and math and it would be cool if she could talk to him about that. All told it was a very expensive pile of plastic and wires without the level of customizable intelligence I’d hoped for.
