  • Not functioning.

Worked once, and only after multiple restarts of everything. I'm not even sure what made it magically connect that one time. I've read everything on the support website many times and my husband, An IT professional, has exhausted any possible troubleshooting on our end. I emailed support 5 days ago and did not hear back. I'd recommend not starting your day with this frustration!

  • Great....when it works

As a Peloton biker with an Apple Watch, I was looking for a way to have the HR logged during my rides and not have to buy a separate HR monitor. I tried another well known app that is suggested for this and it was terrible. After switching to this one, I thought it was smooth sailing. I actually decided against the Bike+ because this app had worked so well. But the past two weeks it’s been glitchy. Not sure what is causing it, but often it switches back and forth from connected and disconnected to my bike. And even when it shows as being connected, there is no data showing on the screen. I rode for 10 minutes today before it finally started registering my HR on the screen. Hoping this gets resolved soon.

Hi Cam's Momma, the disconnect issues described typically happen when HeartCast is paired directly with your Peloton. To resolve, click unpair in Peloton bluetooth settings. Instead, before each ride, connect to HeartCast in Peloton Heart Rate Monitor settings. For this and more, please see our website: https://help.heartcast.app/ ---- Please also feel free to email us contact@heartcast.app or message us on instagram @HeartCastApp. I'm certain we can resolve this for you.
  • A superior and free way to connect your Apple Watch to Peloton

One of the few frustrations of the Peloton platform is its inability to use your Apple Watch as a heart rate monitor. I’m not going to get into a discussion of whether Apple or Peloton is to blame for this, just note that it is a frustration looking for a solution. Here is your solution.

HeartCast runs on your iPhone and Apple Watch simultaneously, taking your pulse from your watch, broadcasting it to your phone, which then rebroadcasts it in a way that Peloton recognizes as a true heart rate monitor. Genius. And guess what — the app is free.

I tried to use another similar app, which is quite popular, and uses the “freemium” model. That is to say, the app forces you to watch a long commercial unless you upgrade it for a fee. I could never get it to work. From what I can tell, the length of the commercial may have caused the bike to disconnect from the Peloton before it could even get started. There are many posts online as to how to get around the problems with this other app. I suppose I could have paid to upgrade it and see if that solved my problems. But can you imagine the frustration if I had paid for the app and it still didn’t work. So instead I downloaded HeartCast. For free. And I never looked back. In fact, I’ve been so pleased that I made a voluntary donation to the developer.

Save yourself some grief and check it out. You won’t be disappointed.

  • Happy with this solution but is choppy

I am using this to send HR data to my wahoo element bolt. I’ve had trouble getting it to connect and close everything and forget the sensor from the wahoo and after about 2-3 tries it will connect. Sometimes the HR data stops showing intermittently and if I raise my wrist in the watch it reconnects. Running iOS 14 and the new Apple Watch 6. I’d love for the connection to be more stable.

I read online about the interference with the wahoo app after using this and can confirm but I’d rather have the heart rate data. I assume that’s because it uses the same Bluetooth channel. Not a perfect solution but the best solution I’ve found! Thanks for creating this and hoping for improvements in the future.

@djjmar, Wahoo is not a supported device at this time. In some cases users are able to use HeartCast with a Wahoo Bolt, but only when the iPhone is completely unpaired from the Wahoo Bike Computer. We've been in contact with the Wahoo team and have posted this information on our website. • Update killed the app

When I tried to use the app during my Peloton workout it would not sync with my apple watch. The readings came through on my watch but there was an error message that would display on my phone saying it couldn't read the data. It worked yesterday before the update. Needless to say this was frustrating trying to get it working by restarting my phone and watch several times. Gave up after finding out it was the update.

  • Ok APP

I used to love the app but now I just run into more and more issues with it. The watch and the phone won’t sync up right away with each other. The phone always has crazy fast numbers going up and down. So I have to exit out and go back in 2-4 times. Then by the time it gets synced, it connects to the bike but doesn’t show any numbers, so I need to restart the tablet for it to work. As much as I wanted to love this, because it still is far more superior than the other heart rate app out there, there’s just too many glitches.

  • Love the app, thank you!

Downloaded this app over the weekend and it’s been a breeze everyday. Simply open the app on phone/watch before syncing with the bike, connect via the Settings/Heart Rate Monitor on your bike, then viola!, my heart rate shows up and stays there the whole ride. Also updated my iOS yesterday and no problems syncing to the bike today yay. Thank you!

  • Would not install on the watch

I was excited to try this app. But it will not install on a Series 4 Apple Watch. I tried several times and made sure 100% battery power. Still no luck. Other app install fine.

  • Awesome clean app

Love the app. Clean, simple easy to use. There’s a list of known issues on heartcast.app/faq-help-support-issues/ which unfortunately I have as I am trying to connect to Sufferfest. Can’t wait for it to be resolved. Otherwise 5 stars. Thanks Shawn!

    Developer Response

Hi Snowbunae, thank you for the great review. Thanks for noting the current Sufferfest support issue. Unfortunately, I have no updates on this integration as of yet. I'll update here asap.
  • Peloton / Apple Watch - Game Changer!!!

Absolutely Wonderful App! Get this app if you wear an Apple Watch & use Peloton. I’m finally able to ditch the horrible Peloton chest strap and use my watch to cast my heart rate; either on my Peloton tablet, iPad, or iPhone. Follow a few easy steps to connect and works flawlessly. Takes no longer to connect than messing with that awful chest strap. Download it! Shawn Carrillo is the developer and very responsive to assist. I also encourage you to voluntarily purchase for $2; even though the free version works fine.
