  • I love this game!

I’ve seen slot of self care apps that try to be games but this one it the first i enjoyed and it actually feels like one. The art style in amazing and the lore is interesting. These are also the first devs i’ve found that recognize that there’s alot of people who aren’t able to afford the premium version, so they created a donation pool which is really generous. This game has honestly helped me alot.

  • It's okay but...

I wish that you could increase the max amount of daily bond, because it's a bit hard to upgrade the levels. Another problem is that there is not a lot of things to do if you are playing with no ingame purchases. However, if you buy golden keys, I'd feel like it's a waste of money because you'll eventually get bored of everything. There is actually not much things you can do in the game. The journals have a limit of what you can write. Once you reach it, you can write no more. The most confusing thing is making an account. You do not really need one to play the game, since the chance of random data resetting is really low. Other than that, I feel like the game's pretty okay. The winged cat named Amaru is cute, and the company probably worked hard to make the game. The animations probably took an expert. Thanks for reading my review. Have a nice day.

  • Sounds good but...

So I downloaded this game to help with my meant alone help but I can’t even get on to the app it just keeps kicking me off and I can’t verify my email because I have parental restrictions
  • Wonderful Game!

I love the limits of playtime with Amaru, bonding, and goals we can put in. I've tried another game-like app that was also suppose to help with habits, but they soon became unrealistic to-do lists that never fully finished. The limits help with self control and consistency for the goals I want to become as habits. Plus Amaru is adorable.

My only actual complaint: I would like more care tasks for Amaru such as cleaning him, not just coloring his fur. Or even picking up his poo and messes, exploring with him (not just letting him explore, which I like as a screen break while Amaru gets to have fun), and maybe learning how to interact with other creatures or people im Enso (real or computer/AI).

I don't know if these things are available in full version (by purchasing the Dream Key), so I'll see when considering getting the key. Either way, the above list are suggestions that would make the game more interactable when it comes to caring for Amaru.

  • Really wanted to love this but…

I adored everything about this app during the tutorial, right up until getting to the self care goals list. The list has about a dozen preset goals that you cannot delete or edit in any way, meaning if they do not fit your own personal goals, they just sit there taking up space. This doesn’t work for me as I have ADHD and I need a comprehensive list of personalized goals that I can edit and customize as needed, such as setting tasks per day, setting the order of those tasks, setting times for reminders, and having a specific list for each day of the week. Having several goals in the list that are not mine is very distracting and makes it harder for me to comprehend what my actual self care goals are that fit my personal needs per day.

I’m a little heartbroken. It was such a sweet app that looked like it had everything I needed, including a a very cute pet to care for and keep me motivated, until discovering this flaw right after the tutorial. I hope that this changes some day and that deletions/edits of the preset goals is at least added, if not a small calendar to customize with daily goals and values. Guess I’m sticking with Habit Rabbit for now :/

    Developer Response

Hi Sirius, The goal-setting is fully customizable. You pick 3 goals per day, either from the list of preset ones or of any you write for yourself. If you're having trouble figuring out how, you can message us at info@sixwingstudios.com.
  • love the journal!!

I have used so many apps to try and help myself keep up with small wellness or self-care tasks and have ended up ignoring them or not enjoying them after a while, especially because of many of them flooding me with requests to make a purchase or putting so many things behind a paywall I can’t afford to get over. I was blessed enough to be donated a Golden Key that unlocks everything in the base game. This is an amazing little program that allows players to donate these keys to players like me who cannot afford them. I plan on donating when I’m more financially stable; I am so surprised that I only waited about 2 days until someone kind donated, so I would love to do the same. I wish other apps did that!

I absolutely love the gratitude journals and have that set as one of my daily goals. I love the art in this app; it is clear that a lot of love has been poured into this! i recommend this app for people who are looking for a basic way to promote a little bit of self-care in their lives. Having three goals each day is manageable and realistic—I have felt positive changes after journaling with this app. I love the burn journal the most. The animation is really fun when you are all done writing out your anger and it gets “burned.” So many small, intentional artistic choices are made in the animations that make this app so so special.

  • This game is so helpful❤️

I needed this, and im glad i got it when i did, because i was doing homework and i was struggling really bad, i started crying because of how stressful it was and the consequences i could get from my teacher. I stopped, took a break and went on Amaru, did some breathing exercises and asked my mother for help with the question. This helps a lot, thank you❤️❤️❤️

  • Cute, useful tools, affordable full version

Okay first off - Amaru (as in the sweet little magic flying cat) is just too cute! The animations are adorable and really bring them to life. As a puppy parent, the way they come up to the screen to mooch for food is so true to life it makes me laugh.

As for features, I like the journalling options and appreciate that the meditations have some variety (with scans and visualizations in varying lengths) instead of just breathing exercises. The mini games are simple and enjoyable. I found them more useful than I expected - like the stone stacking one is enough to totally occupy my brain when I get too anxious. And I really like that the habits are to help Amaru with their anxiety too. Maybe I just have a parent friend override that makes it easier to do things for others than myself, but it makes a real difference for me.

It's also refreshing that the app is set up so that it doesn't demand your time. It actively encourages you to spend only a little time on it with customizable energy limits (aka time spent with Amaru before they need a nap), a short goal list with only 3 to prioritize per day, and screen/app breaks as goals. My screen time and number of pickups are down since switching to Amaru from another app. And I've actually started... putting my phone away and going to bed at a decent time when Amaru does! That's mindblowing for me. It feels nice to use a self-care app that actually wants what's best for you instead of constant engagement.

I also truly appreciate that I got to try all this in the free version. It helped me make the (honestly very affordable) decision to upgrade to the full version. Right now it's about $13 in my currency. I've tried a similar pet self-care app that - on sale - was 6x as much for just a YEAR. And that didn't have nearly the same cute factor, or actually useful mental health tools, or chill non-FOMO inducing design that this app does.
