  • Honest Review

I had attempted to take the NREMT test here in California 3 times and couldn’t pass. I went through all the content in this app and I was able to pass first try. If you want to pass this test I highly recommend the payed version of this app. The free version does not have all the great features you would need in order to pass, it’s possible of course but you are better off paying for that guaranteed pass. I would suggest taking all three mock exams and going through all 1000 questions in the “ build your own quiz section” it’s definitely a lot of studying but it’s worth it considering you will most likely pass first try. This app also tells you WHY your questions is right and wrong and explains it WITH the page numbers where you could find it in the book , this is a very excellent feature. The ONLY gripe I have with this app is they separate the mock exam questions from the rest of the questions in the app, so when you want to study just the ones you got wrong on the mock exam they won’t let you do a review set of just those by it self. It would be really nice if they implemented that feature. Overall the app is excellent you really are guaranteed a pass with this app BUT you NEED to go through ALL the content to pass of course. Overall great app would 100% recommend.

  • Overall Good

For the most part I’ve found this to helpful with getting in the test taking mindset. Since I’m just studying and not taking an actual test, I find myself not reading question and answers thoroughly enough and getting questions wrong that I would probably get right on an actual test.

As with any EMS test I have issues with the wording and could definitely make legitimate arguments about my answer that was ultimately wrong. I have flagged all those questions but I think flagging questions just lets you mark a specific question to come back and study and not let pocket prep know they should possibly look at the questions and/or answers more thoroughly.

My biggest complaint with the app is auto selecting answers while I’m scrolling still. Not a huge deal, but let’s be real, we all want to do well. It’s frustrating when it picks an answer because my thumb was still dragging and I get it wrong because I hadn’t read all the options yet.

  • I love you Pocket Prep

I want to start by saying that I have never written a review for an app before. First time taking the NREMT after holding my NYS card for 5 years. Without this app, I would not be sitting here writing this review thanking you for all your help. I took the test this morning and received my email that I passed, first try. Like everyone else, I was confident I failed. But I will admit, a majority of questions were the ones I had studied and harped on. Between the questions, types of quizzes, and material explaining the answers, this is a phenomenal tool. They truly prepare you for your exam in the best way imaginable. I could see a clear progression in my learning and test taking skills from the day I subscribed, and it provided me with confidence I didn’t have beforehand. You’re the best pocket prep, I’ll miss your daily questions and motivational quotes.

  • Helped me pass my NREMT!!!!!!

Normally I would say that simply doing practice exams wouldn’t be a good study strategy, however this app really helped me. I liked that it had extensive and textbook based explanations so that I could I could learn as I was practicing. What seriously did help the most was the LEVEL UP category. It was in beta at the time of me writing this (and passing my test) but I seriously hope you retain and improve it as a feature as I genuinely believe it’s what’s helped me pass! I’d been using the app and took my first attempt, only to fail. When I went through and worked through all the levels it was enough to help me pass my second attempt confidently!

My only complaint is that I was promised that if I didn’t pass an NREMT attempt that I would get 3 months free, however I looked all over and couldn’t figure out how to implement this, so I feel a bit cheated there, but I can’t complain now that I’m on the other side!

Thanks for reading and good luck to any other EMTs testers out there!

  • All you need

I passed my EMT-B in January and my AEMT in June. I paid attention in class but I never opened my book. I used this app exclusively I took every question on both and read the explanations meticulously. This app is gold it’s like reading your book and even if you get the questions wrong it explains each option so extensively you understand 4 new concepts. I cannot recommend this app enough. This app is very similar to the test. I highly recommend getting this app and using it in conjunction with whatever other study methods work for you. For me I’m a hands on guy so I studied my skill sheets and this for my exam and I felt confident and passed both first try. Thank you so much pocket prep!!!

  • Good app for knowledge review

I just passed my cognitive yesterday (I'm in the last medic school cohort that has a separate psychomotor) and I credit this app and also Limmer Paramedic Pass. I think they're both worth buying the paid version, and they complement each other.

The NREMT test is adaptive. If you start getting the easy questions right, the questions after become increasingly niche and obscure.

This app gives you some great knowledge review for both the easy and the obscure questions. There are 3 big mock tests in the premier version. If you take one mock test, you'll know which of the 5 area(s) tested you are weak in and what you should concentrate on. There is a "weakest area" quiz. You also get a comparison to the average app user every time you take a quiz.

I love that you can just buy one month of premier access at a time, so you can cram with it. Then after you pass, you can automatically go back to the regular version and use it to stay sharp.

What this app doesn't do as well as Limmer Paramedic Pass is give you those NREMT style trick questions to practice on. But it's better on showing you where you stand and on the more advanced questions you'll get.

  • Wouldn’t recommend.

This app is very misleading with its questions and contradictory answers. I’ve held my NREMT since 2017 and let it lapse in 2023. I’ve worked on a box and on an engine at one of the busiest departments in the nation. The questions you get contradict what the book says. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone looking to pass the NREMT. I do not have screen shots of the contradictions. Because i was too mad to even continue using. I canceled my subscription. All you get is tests with this. They do offer an explanation which sometimes doesn’t even explain why what you chose was wrong. There is not really a WHY behind it. If they offered sections from the book to actually study with, this app would be beneficial. However it’s just tests that sometimes contradict what the book says and field experiences tell. I hope you fix this. Thanks

Hi there - Our content prepares EMS professionals for what they will be tested on in the NREMT exams, which may not necessarily align with what you're taught in the field. Each of our explanations thoroughly details the correct answer and why the distractors are incorrect choices, and also include page references to the textbook for further study.
  • Helped Me Pass my NREMT First Try

I’ll start by saying I passed first try, and it was thanks to EMT Pocket Prep! This app challenged me a lot more than the other study apps I tried, and I mean that in a good way. The app is very user friendly, and laid out well. You can use phone or tablet, and they even have a computer website based version (not to mention all the progress syncs for your account)! The data info really helps you see what categories you may need to focus on more than the others, and helps you keep track of your progress. You can even create custom quizzes for either all categories or specific ones, and you can choose unanswered, answered, flagged, and/or incorrect answered questions on the quiz. Pricing for premium, in my opinion, is very good for what it’s worth and what you get out of it. Definitely worth giving it a try!

  • I passed my NREMT !!!

I passed my nremt exam today (first attempt), not completely because of this app, I will admit… you still must study all resources, however I’m not sure I could’ve passed without this app jogging my memory, 100% worth the $15 a month. I’ve seen complaints of people saying that the questions aren’t exactly like the nremt… well duh. It’s not supposed to give you the answers, it’s supposed to educate you, which it completely does, and pulls it’s sources from the textbook, which is awesome. it also keeps your memory/knowledge up to date. I finished my emt school, one week ago, and there’s some things I forgot/had some weak spots, and this app saved me! Thank you EMTprep!!!!

  • Better than any college course i’ve taken

Going through college and EMT-B school i struggled with certain questions because when i got them wrong it wouldnt tell me WHY i got them wrong. Being a person who needs to know the “why’s” to learn from my mistakes I couldnt have asked for a better app. Id even go as far as saying you can scim through the textbook as long as you study every question on this app. With 1000 questions there isnt a topic it doesnt cover. Im going into my NREMT fully confident that ill pass with the knowledge ive gain just from those quick 10 quizzes more-so than i wouldve fresh out of emt school.
