  • Most useful tool I had

NREMT is difficult exam and I had failed my first attempt. I had used the app but I did not use it fully. After some time I was preparing for my second attempt and had a lot more focus. The app by itself should not be used as the only form of preparation but as a tool to get there. I used the app to help me understand where my my weaknesses and strengths were. Any time I missed questions I would always go back to the book pages the app was referencing from in order to get a better understanding. I retook the NREMT and and rather than getting asked 120 questions like the first time, I was only asked 70 questions. I can only assume it was due to my accurate responses.
Thank you EMS Prep. I can now continue and grow in my career path.

  • Information out of date

The questions were helpful. However, they did not represent best practices in the United States in 2021. For example, we do not use the phrase (or even the concept) of “near-drowning” any more. We have fewer applications for spinal immobilizations, preferring self-stabilization for capable patients. We use CPAP machines routinely for prehospital care, but the questions’ best suggestion was high-flow oxygen for a conscious patient struggling to inhale.

Good study tool, but too many outdated practices, especially for a premium app.

  • Great study adjunct, passed FP-C first time

So let me start this off by saying this is an awesome study app. Makes reviewing from a phone smooth as silk.

The sheer volume of questions you have to work through in all of the different categories really pushes you to take notes and pay attention.

I used this in conjunction with a prep course and 2 different review books (Back to Basics and the ASTNA Patient Transport 5th edition). The questions on this app are definitely not 1:1 for the actually test but the material it pushes you to review definitely is.

Honestly the only thing I think would make this app better would be pictures of tracings from ecg / 12 leads, tocometers, IABP, and others.

  • Misleading, didn’t reflect my real world test experience

Bought this app on a recommendation of a friend studying for the nremt paramedic test. Questions on the same subject would contradict each other. The same question twice has multiple answers. Additionally the real world test had multiple question formats while this only had multiple choice.

I’m giving it three stars because I still passed the test but this was not worth the 15/month subscription at all. Not even close.

  • AMAZING

Awesome resource to study with. Explains answer choices after every question and define terminology you might not be familiar with. DEFINITELY worth purchasing the 800 question package!! You can also customize your quizzes and choose the study only certain topics (including exclusively your weakest subject). The program tracks your progress and gives you a grade as you go. When reviewing the quiz questions at the end of your quiz you can also see how other users answered (it shows a percentage of “votes” for each answer choice and tells you what % answered correctly).

All in all amazing app!!! Wouldn’t change a thing!!!

    Developer Response

Thank you for the rave review! 🙌 We appreciate you!!
  • GREAT !!!

I passed my NREMT at 70 questions, I studied this app for 2 weeks prior, just going back and forth with the questions along with a crash course book. I’d say that this app prepared me a bit more because of the scenario based questions. The questions for my test were not really similar to the ones on the app, but it did prepare me to handle them and I felt very confident throughout the test. Best $$ ever invested!!! Thank you pocket prep!

  • I love the app but it running so slow

I would highly recommend this app, but the only problem I have been having lately it runs really slow now. I’m not sure why but it was ever since that update where you can see how other people did on question you answered I have been lagging so much it’s almost ridiculous. It’s probably ether that or maybe because answered about 300 question it slows down the app? I really love this app and would definitely recommend but since I’m broke at the moment I would think paying $30 something a month is to much for an app the crashes and slows down on me.

  • Paramedic School Study Tool

I downloaded this app after a paramedic recommended it to me. He used it his first time through paramedic school, and he was using it again to help him study for taking his national registry exam for his recertification. I tried the free version and loved it so much I bought the monthly subscription. It shows me exactly where I am lacking in my knowledge base, and helps prep me how to answer exam questions. Plus...when you get an answer right or wrong it give you an explanation, and then the reference material where to find that topic. Great study tool!

  • Helpful App

Passed NREMT on the first try. I’ve seen people saying the questions are different from the real test - yes it is different, but you should still use this app to practice, it helps.
NREMT is deeper than the state one (at least comparing to the NYS one), meaning you need to know the meaning of each terms and figure out which one is the best choice, in other words, you still need to read the book carefully, but you should be just fine once you done that and practice with the app.

  • Great questions!

These are good tough questions that make you think. I am retaking registry after being out of the field for 8 years. Paramedic school was 20 years ago for me and this is helping get my brain back in the critical thinking arena again. I’m glad to have a resource like this to take a quick test. I make note cards of the missed questions from the explanations to learn from my mistakes.
