Problems solved! Game is excellent!
I can’t get the game to progress beyond the initial loading screen. Would be more than happy to change my review if this gets fixed. I am a huge fan of Northstar Games and would love to see up and running.
1st Edit: I have been able to get the game to load, unless I get the Moray Eel or Jellyfish load screens. On these screens I tap the continue button and nothing happens. The other load screens are slow, but eventually let me progress to the actual game.
2nd Edit: I’m playing on an iPad Air 2nd gen. I have gotten a few games to load, but I always reach a point where the game seems to get stuck and then crashes. It seems to happen when the Deep cards come into play. This is a real bummer, because I really enjoy this game.
3rd Edit: Got a new iPad. Problem solved! Game is fantastic! 5*’s all the way. BTW, the sound track is really beautiful on the new speakers.

Thanks for reporting the issue Widdlewade. The patch we just pushed, 1.07, should hopefully fix the issue on the older devices too. Thanks for updating the review, appreciate it.
Love it but bugs...
Just purchased the medium AI for $0.99 and it quits out half way through the game:( please help with this! Other then that, it’s a great and easy way to introduce someone to the game and a good way to practice. Hoping they also consider making it dual player virtually.
Fun game. Crash issues after purchase
I enjoyed the basic game as a quick way to get some practice and better understand the rules. I recently purchased the Deep pack to have more deep cards, the pass and play feature, and the medium level AI. In the middle of the games with the medium AI, however, the game crashes. When I reopen the app, I am able to resume my game, but the played cards are different (often a tentacled is in place of a played deep card). After continuing, the game crashed again and this time I was unable to play cards after restoring the game. This has happened each time I’ve tried that mode.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us! We're aware of an issue related to crashing resulting in unplayable cards. Our engineers are currently investigating the issue and are working towards a resolution. They already have a few promising leads. We'll get a patch out soon.

Good first effort
I’ve played a number of games and have enjoyed it. There’s only a limited number of cards from the boardgame available at first, but the developer says they will be putting out more in the future as they work on expanding. I haven’t tried the medium AI yet, but the easy AI is a bit of a challenge (for me, at least). I’ve only beaten it once. The game only froze on me onceSteve987, got caught in an endless loop at one point, but otherwise this is a good, light version of the full boardgame. Hope to see the new cards soon!

Never got to finish a single game without the app shutting down for no reason.
Fun but still glitchy
I enjoy the original board game and have so far enjoyed the app version but I have not managed to actually finish a game because the app always crashes a few rounds after the Cambrian explosion is triggered. If the crashing can be solved I would give this app 5 stars and even buy the extras package.

Beautiful game
I love the mechanics, it's as fun to play as evolution. I'm looking forward to seeing more being added to this game.

Great adaptation, one issue though
Hello. I have Evolution, Climate, and Oceans. I love these games. I play them with my children and challenge them to see the deeper meaning behind the game. These mobile adaptations are great introductions to the games without having the setup and tear down etc. My single issue with this app is that I purchased the additional features, but cannot get them to show up in the app. I have tried to Restore Purchases, but the loading wheel just spins and freezes the game. I’ve uninstalled as well, but the issue continues. Any advice?

Everything is way too small on iPad Air 2
The game looks nice with gorgeous graphics - if I could see them or at least zoom in on them. I aborted the tutorial because I cannot even see the information on the miniature cards to get a better idea what is what. As it is, the game is absolutely unplayable for me.
ETA: Thanks for your reply. But having to touch each card just to find out what kind of type it is... maybe you could figure out a way to make better use of the available real estate. I see a lot of empty space on the screen, so I think there are various possibilities for an optimization. Maybe show the player’s entire hand large with a touch, or better still: make a large display the default and you can tap on the hand to minimize it if necessary.

Hi Jileha, If you touch and hold the cards, they'll zoom out full size. Some folks have commented this can be a bit sensitive right now, so we'll adjust it to make it easier to zoom.
