  • A high functioning app with many features for all types of users.

This app is very, very good! it comes in handy in organising your photos in a way that the native photos app doesn’t allow, due to limitations of iOS 16.
The app developer is highly motivated and active with his feedback and constantly updating and adding new and improved features.

I believe that this app is something all users should have in their App Library as it comes in handy to better manage your abundant photos in a style that’s severely lacking.

    Great app

    Plz support Arabic language
  • Used to be good

It used to be a good, simple app to find text in real time using the live camera.

Hey, thanks for the review. The old version of the app is still available — just search up "OpenFind" on the App Store. I also made the code open-source on GitHub: github.com/aheze/OpenFind
  • A flawed jem

I really like this app, though there are a few issues that make using it a tad cumbersome. There’s no double-tap to zoom, which is a must for photo apps like this. But more annoyingly, there are issues with the text scanning. It constantly froze, mostly on anime pics. I had to manually skip or ignore dozens of photos in order for it to properly finish the process.

If that can be fixed and tap-to-zoom is implemented, this would be my go-to!

Hey, thanks for the review! I've added double-tap-to-zoom in 3.0.5. About freezing, I'm trying to figure out what photos are causing problems. If there's nothing sensitive in them, could you send me a copy at andrew@getfind.app? Thanks again!
  • Fourth update on crashing latest version

Well, it used to be a great app, but this newest update will not run on iOS 16.0.2 (iPhone 11). The app crashes instantly and won’t open. I tried deleting and reinstalling with the same result. Update: The developer promised an update/fix would be available this week. The update (v3.0.1) still crashes instantly on open. I’m still hoping it will be fixed. It used to be a really useful app. Update 2: Developer says he’s on it again and working on fix and has restored access to a previously working version. I’m adding two more stars to my review for an app that doesn’t even work yet simply because the dev is really responsive. Once the app even works again, I’ll add more stars. Update 3. The latest update (v3.0.2) is still instacrashing on iPhone 11 (iOS 16.1.1) and thus I’m giving up on it and downgrading my rating to 1 star again. I’d give it less if I could since the app just won’t work. Never has.
Update 4. I'm starting to feel like Charlie Brown with Lucy and the football. Like a sucker, I fell for the promise of 3.04 fixing the crash and tried reinstalling the latest update. If anything, it just crashes faster on iOS 16.1.1. It's working ok on iPadOS.

Update 3: Hi again. At this point you're probably kind of tired of all the crashing, but I added some troubleshooting tools in v3.0.6. Right now I'm just not sure if the issue has to do with a corrupted photo or something else — v3.0.6 might fix it, but let me know if it doesn't. Update 2: I fixed the bug in v3.0.4 — it was a threading issue that only appeared under certain circumstances. If you're up for it, would you like to give it a try? Sorry for being so late... this was a tricky one to fix :) Update: Hi again! I haven't pinned down the issue yet, so in the meantime I've re-released the old version (v2.0.7) as a separate app. I'm probably going to need another week to fix it, but until then, the old version should work! https://open.getfind.app Thanks for reporting this — I'm investigating the bug right now and should have a fix ready next week.
  • Lots of love to the Andrew

You can see this app has been though and developed with a lot of love and care. It definitely a useful utility for someone hunting in the photos app usually.

:D thanks for the awesome review!!!
  • Update ruined it

I'm so upset, this was an amazing app for using your camera to scan ingredient lists to find allergies. I sent it to my sister who has Celiac disease and she was SO excited to use it to find gluten free products and I was using it to find dairy in products.

But they just updated to some completely different type of app, I can't find the dairy and gluten lists and it's completely useless now.

You had a REALLY dope concept going on and y'all completely ruined it, I'm telling my mom and sister to uninstall it.

Why do y'all take a perfect product and just ruin it??

Update October 22: Hi again — guess what? The old version is coming back, as a separate app! You can get it at https://open.getfind.app. It's got the camera, lists, and everything from before! Btw, I made the old version open-source, so expect to see lots of updates! — Hey! Sorry about this. I'm adding Camera and lists back this week. V3 was rebuilt completely from scratch and I wasn't able to add back all the features in time. Sorry again. It's just me working on the app, but I'll have it done really soon 👍
  • Wow a beautiful experience

Wow a beautiful experience and fast way to find the perfect image to illustrate your next tweet. Once the scanning is done (it takes some time for large photo libraries) the finding is great. And now Find searches for objects lik my “Dog” or “jacket” or words on a menu. Awesome!

    Developer Response

Thank you David! Always working on speeding it up. The next scanner, Color Recognition, should be many times faster than what's currently implemented.
  • Just excellent

    Really awesome app
