How Safari Bookmarks Should Work
This is *exactly* what I was looking for. I use it as a long-term database archive of links, that slowly accretes information as I add tags and annotations. Needs a bit of polish around the edges, but it's been really solid so far.jacobpledger

Back to five stars. After the dev responded to my review, I emailed them, as I still couldn’t figure out the updated delete feature. Their quick reply walked me through it (a long press on an individual item or after selecting multiple items) and it’s smoother and easier than ever.
Previous review: Yesterday I would’ve given Abyss 5 stars, even with the UI glitchiness when selecting and deleting links, but today’s update removed (or hid?) the ability to delete. I often toss articles into Abyss throughout the day, to read distraction-free later, but many of them aren’t things I want to keep cluttering up my archive once I’ve read them.Show lessZoe Rayne

Hey! The option to delete links has not been removed (and never will), could it be that the menu doesn't fit on your screen and you need to scroll it once it appears? It's always the last option, that could be why you're not seeing it!Why no folders???

Almost perfect, but wont stop crashing on MacOS.
I really like Abyss a lot. however the MacOS app will not stop crashing. As soon as I try to scroll down it instantly closes with no warning. It also closes most of the time when I add a new site from the share menu.
I really hope this can be fixed as I spent 2 days sorting 600 links, then moving and re-tagging almost 300 of them from Wallabag before realizing this bug that completely prevents me from using the app.
The iOS app seems to be perfectly fine.
Assuming the crashing stops, Abyss would easily be 4 stars as it is. However there are a few features & improvments that would just absolutely knock it out of the park.
1. The ability to select multiple tags at a time. With only 300 links, its already a little cumbersome to find what im looking for. Thankfully the tags are brightly colored which helps.
2. The ability to add new tags from the share menu, and the ability to find exisiting tags by typing instead of having to scroll through the whole list.
3. The ability to create groups of links. Such as if your collecting links for a specific project. Instead of creating yet another tag, you could create a group or a folder to keep them all together.
4. When right clicking a link, the "remove tags" menu should only show the tags that are actually on the link you selected instead of just showing them all.
I really hope to see this app get better and better as I have tried all the others and this seems to be the only one that was made by someone who actually cares.Show lessRelikLink

Hey! Thanks for the review. Icons on the tags are gone for now, but might make a comeback. I removed them because they made the UI feel to heavy when you had lots of tags. About folders, what's your use case? What would you do with folders that tags are not letting you?The version 1.9.3 not sync with 3.1

Needs Better Filtering/Sorting
Ok, but confusing UI. I’m having trouble tracking what’s been read.
If I save something to the Inbox and tag it with a category (such as 'Science'), it shows up in the global Inbox with its tag. However, if I tap the ‘Science’ tag itself there’s no way to know if articles are read or even if they are in the Inbox or Archive folder. It would nice to be able to either mark as read, or filter by location.
Right now, my Inbox is one long reverse chronological list of tagged articles that I can neither sort or filter. There used to be a filter but it seems it was removed? As it is, this app isn’t working for me anymore.Show lessSofa King Cynical

I love how simple to use this is! It also has a gorgeous clear aesthetic and I like that it is private.
I would like to be able to categorise the tags into folders too, so that I could have some mini categories for similar tags, which would make the tag list less overwhleming to look at, but only if that canbe done quickly and simply, as the simplicity of this app is why I love it.
I looked at Pocket and other apps but they just seemed so overwhelming and overcomplicated. My ND brain likes the look and function of Abyss waaay more!
One thing I would like to ask the developer though is if it is possible to sync it with my Mac without being on the latest io upgrade. I am currently using an older Mac with an Internet stick and can't upgrade so I can't sync the phone app with my laptop atm. This is a me issue, but any ideas how I can do this without buying a new laptop?
I would also like to ask if there are any plans to make this an app that you could share use of with another person.
It would be great to be able to share, organise and edit links together with my partner. I have not yet been able to find an app that does this, other than calendar apps, which isn't quite what we're after.
I would also like to ask what guarantee is offered that our saved links will stay saved, and organised as they are. I noticed on one upgrade that the tags all changes around. I was able to rectify this easily but just wondering.
