Great all round
I downloaded the haystack app this morning. The user interface is well laid out, easy to navigate and really easy to use. After completing my profile and sending my CV, I was contacted by a member of the haystack team to discuss the types of roles I was looking for. After a quick chat they suggested several companies that they thought I would be a good fit for and told me a little about each role. The haystack representative was really informative, polite and professional I was made to feel Important and supported by the haystack team.

Initially proactive but not really working for me
Signed up, got a call from their team to discuss my experience and what I was looking for which was a nice touch. It took a while to get my profile set up as the process isn’t entirely streamlined (keyboard overlaying fields so you can’t see what you’re entering), but after a bit of work I was happily looking through jobs. A few issues that have led me to stop using the app:
- The range of jobs just isn’t there.
- Matching algorithm seems a bit off. 80%+ matches have the wrong tech and not sure why 0% matches are even shown? Can’t seem to filter on this or date?
- Some bugs resulting in the app hanging (filtering roles) and the last couple of days I’ve logged in and seen no jobs at all.
- The interface itself doesn’t feel incredibly intuitive or suitable for touch use.
It’s a good concept, just not quite there! Would consider returning to it in future.

Intuitive
This app is easy to use and there are clear and understandable widgets. Looking at new opportunities and Haystack has shown me real positions with high level companies. Excited to pursue.
