  • Pricing seems off

I love the idea of the app. And Its alright but the pricing seems a bit much. I’d love it if the year was $15 and the lifetime subscription was $30. Which even that is a bit high for the purpose of this app and if it even requires a subscription but I understand that developers need income as well. But at the moment I can’t justify the pricing of the tiers even though I want to try them and would be down for a one time purchase but for $70 that’s a bit much. Even $30 for this purpose I’m not sure on, but I would be a lot more comfortable for that for what I get out of this app and the ability to support the creator

  • Great for keeping in touch

Such a timely app! It makes getting in touch and staying in touch a snap. It would be further simplified with short talking prompts for those people you want to stay in contact with but never know what to chat about.
  • Great application!

Met the developer at a iOS get together. Great guy! Have some feedback at the end but only because on a simulator 😅 can’t use feedback button.

Looks - this app is fluid, and really feels comfortable in the Apple ecosystem. Everything transitions smoothly and feels comfortable in your hands.

Functionality - relation has a great focus on relationships of any kind - and genuinely has a great experience overall.

Wrap up - While the app is fully functional, the more the merrier. I would love to see a “spouse” option, and eventually the application help me steer towards itself rather than forget about it. I wouldn’t mind more push notifications, as family, social life, and interacting with loved ones is crucial. And as a developer myself, I can sometimes always forget to do so.
Where the app shines in UI and execution - I worry that the app will go to the background after building these habits myself with the help of the app itself. Would love to see something that gives me more of a reason to engage, like rewards or trophies or points for following through and validation!

Loving the app but noticed that just interacting even with someone’s contact card (specifically our relationship) to a “healthy” status any known I did not interact with the person themselves!

    Hope my review helps!

  • Performance

Good app but performance in iOS 14 is lacking. App constantly freezes
  • Just what I needed

This is a beautifully designed app, that is proving invaluable to me.

Due to Covid, I got stuck in Australia and have lots of family and friends in the UK who I want to stay in touch with, at varying intervals.

Relate allows me to set very tailored reminders for each contact and to record interactions and notes. I now don’t have to worry about keeping track of it all in my head and can also jot down key pieces of news from friends so I don’t forget to mention it next time we speak.

The app developer has been impressively responsive to a couple of initial questions and feature requests I had, so I had no hesitation in taking out a year’s subscription. I’m not overly keen on app subscriptions but Relate is priced very reasonably and is an app I use on a daily basis, so I think it’s great value.
