This app was great before. However, whenever I try to choose a soundfont from my files (i downloaded this on ipad), it doesnt open up anything. Is this an issue with my device, or with the app? If this is an issue with the app, please fix this.

Edit: Nvm, I figured it out. Thank you for replying though!

EDIT: Glad to hear that you figured it out! Hi, Thanks for leaving a review. I need a little more information about your device so I can figure out what's going on. Would you be able to edit your review to include the specific iPad model and iPadOS version you're using? If you could also send a screen recording of what you're seeing to apps@nitinseshadri.com that would be really helpful. Thanks, Nitin

This "simple" MIDI player has many features that more complicated MIDI players lack. The one I found by accident and hardly mentioned in the description was a $5 upgrade option to connect the MIDI output to a compatible Bluetooth device (along apparently with USB MIDI devices too). In my case, I wanted to play MIDIs on my older Yamaha Clavinova CVP-98 with a Yamaha MD-BT01 Bluetooth MIDI interface, and could not find any app to do that until this one, and it works perfectly.

The developer is also extremely responsive to questions and suggestions and seems to be actively improving the app and that says a lot. I do wish the app had a playlist feature but the developer is actively working on that for a future version.

Now it won’t let me pick Soundfonts in general.
Edit: I figured out that the way to do it has changed.

    Developer Response

Hi, thanks for leaving a review! The way that SoundFonts are opened has changed. To open a SoundFont or choose a MIDI output, tap the arrow next to the SoundFont or MIDI output name (or the name itself), then pick the option you want in the menu. Hope this helps!

  • Nice

I first used this on my iPhone and I loved it. I was looking through my app purchases on my iMac and noticed this app in there. I downloaded it onto my computer and I am now very happy with it! I no longer have to suffer with the default garageband instruments when I listen to MIDIS now.

  • Downloaded for Mac but also appeared on iPad; can’t delete

As mentioned above, I downloaded to my iMac and, as usual, it went to my iPad as well. That was expected. The problem arises EACH TIME I delete it from the iPad it reappears, which is not just annoying but worrisome as well.
It does perform well (****) on the iMac.

UPDATE: This was fixed by disabling automatic downloads for apps in Settings > App Store on the iPad. (This issue is unrelated to NS MIDI Player.) --- Hi, thanks for leaving a review! This looks more like an iPadOS issue; can you confirm that you have automatic downloads for apps turned off in Settings > App Store on your iPad? If you're using iPadOS 15.0 or newer: When deleting the app from your iPad, are you tapping "Delete App" or "Remove from Home Screen"? The second option will leave the app on your iPad but place it in the App Library, which probably explains why you still keep seeing it. Thanks!
