  • A great tool!

This app got e up and running after i got a place in Mexico. I found myself talking to a waiter in Spanish and my friend stopped me and said “I didn’t know you spoke Spanish.” I explained to him that I didn’t but I was using an app everyday. To be specific, it’s this app. The app has vastly improved since I started it in November 2021 as has my Spanish. It has enhanced my part time life in Mexico immensely. Just a little bit everyday brings big results! Thank you 👍

Love it! So glad to hear Jumpspeak has been helpful in your journey in Mexico. We're just getting started :-)
  • Amazing For Learning Conversation

I’ve been using this app lately in addition to Babbel, and find it extremely helpful for being thrown into speaking conversational Spanish It’s pre set conversations, and in the past few months of using it I’ve noticed updates that help recap the same vocabulary This is not a app specialized in learning the grammar step by step, but is the best Spanish learning service I’ve ever come across for responding to sentences real time; and then improving on the lesson after Highly recommend using alongside another “slower” in depth app to really hone in on learning how to speak. Definitely recommend and it also makes the lessons quick enough to do even when you don’t have a lot of time
  • Glitchy

I like the ability to hear words pronounced and the small, bite-sized lessons, but it’s really glitchy. It freezes at the end of most lessons, sometimes it doesn’t catch when I’m wrong or right. I feel like the other people get to say more than I do.
It’s frustrating, especially since I just paid for the year today.
  • Great Tool for Learning a New Language!

I’ve tried learning a new language for years and have used several different platforms, but this one is by far the best. I work in a field where being bilingual is almost necessary, and in less than a month I’ve started communicating with my Spanish-speaking clients without using a translator. I highly recommend Jumpspeak!
  • So buggy

I want to love it but it’s SO buggy. Doesn’t give you a long time to retry words you get wrong as it works off a three second timer. There’s a delay when you hit the microphone button to speak. This delay sometimes causes the entire conversation AI to get stuck and the only way to fix it is by exiting the entire lesson which loses all progress. For whatever reason, “Y” is programmed as a different word (you can tell when you tap on it to hear how to say it) so it always gets marked as incorrect. There’s been a lot of times I was on a roll and got so frustrated that I had to just stop trying to learn for the day.

We get your frustration here Alicia - we've made some big improvements to the learning/conversation experience, if you're able to get the latest release of the app?
  • Poor execution

I have been using this application now for over 30 days. I have completed at least 100 lessons. They have made some progress, but unfortunately nearly every lesson has mistakes or errors. The voice recognition is questionable. This makes the application frustrating. In addition, the application has a tendency to lock up without reason or warning. This is also very frustrating. Overall, the application gives me a headache because it simply does not function as it should. I spent some time living in South America so my Spanish is not terrible.
  • Fantastic App!

I am loving the Jumpspeak app, within a week of using it my Spanish comprehension is improving. The great thing about this app is that it creates a life-like conversation where you listen, then respond, just like a normal conversation in Spanish. My confidence level to listen and engage in conversations will definitely improve by using this app regularly. And the conversations can be pretty funny and its all really relevant too.

    We really appreciate that Daniel!
  • So close!

This is such a great idea and the app works really well. The only issue? Masculine and feminine adjectives! So disappointing when literally the first real phrase I could try out was “I’m tired”… estoy cansado if I’m male, cansada if female. The app assumes I’m female and wanted me to say cansada. If I tried cansado (which it recognized), it told me I was wrong.

Add the option for us to choose our preferred gender and adjust the app to match, and this should be great!
  • Meh

This app is okay for learning pronunciation and tuning your ear for Spanish. But not so much for people who are trying to learn how to have real time conversations. It would be different if the app asked questions and you actually had to respond in your own words in the language you are trying to learn, not fill in blanks or choose which one is right. Also the app seems to have a hard time actually hearing or picking up what one is actually saying. Even with correct pronunciation, the app will still tell you that you got the word wrong. Not terrible, but definitely room for improvement

Hey AliNobi, this is great feedback! We are introducing new modes of the conversation lesson, where the focus is strictly free flow conversations (without the need to wait for feedback). Stay tuned :-)
  • So slow!!

So far I have been enjoying Jumpspeak. It’s definitely different from any other language app I’ve tried. It’s like talking to a chat bit in Spanish with suggest lines already there for you to say and test your accuracy. It’s cool, I can see how it will be beneficial with annunciation but I don’t see how it will help you figure out on your own how to speak independently.

I can see this app becoming addicting and something I wouldn’t be able to put down but the loading time between each line is sooo slow. You can’t continue at the pace of a regular conversation. It’s too slow for me to want to put up with for very long, so I get off sooner that I really would like just because I’m frustrated

Hey Keyanna, this is great feedback! The main reason for the short delay is that our speech recognition is gauging whether what you said was correct or not, and how to give you feedback. With that said, we are introducing new modes of the conversation lesson, where the focus is strictly free flow conversations (without the need to wait for feedback). Stay tuned :-)
