Great for trying new ideas

I use it when I’m trying to create ideas quickly. It helps me get a sense of flow, and what chords progressions work best. It’s most helpful when I try the progressions in the other versions and compare the different variations.

Sax legend

If you love sax and want to play along with Whitney Houston’s awesome sax player, I can really recommend this app! Wow.

Nice …but

This would be one incredible piece of software if your where to incorporate “automatic chord recognition via midi”.. I don’t know the name of most chords I play !, lol. Plus when you input them is a little of a drag s finding the sus vs the minors etc , then next , then next .. I would love to simply play a progression once and bam !! It’s there ! C’mon you can do it ! ;)

UPDATEs NEEDED BADLY!! PLEASE??!!

What is wrong here? The sound quality used to be incredible and now it’s horrible. All sounds are vibrating and really off tune. I can’t even use them now. I was going to submit songs using these apps and everything is way off. I especially enjoy the original session band but that is awful. All of the apps are off. Session band were my faves and now I can’t use them. I tapped five stars hoping you would read this review and respond to me. Thank you. Please update so I can use my favorite apps again.

iOS 16.1.1

Hi Team Great music packs- I have them all! Excellent support too, many thanks :)

Not bad but,,

Purchased Soul jazz funk 1 and 2 but they are completely separate and do not interact with each other. Version 1 is guitar and version 2 is sax. Would have been great together.
The chord vocabulary could be better. If you’re looking to cover some jazz standards you will find you are some chords short. A regular B flat for example. Every other kind of B flat but not that one. There are others missing also so a bit dissatisfied. There’s also a further $8.99 in app purchase to expand the loops which for an app that is already $8.99 ,,meh. So not great.

Bought On the advice of my Tutor

Bought the app on the advice of my tutor as a good intro to playing to backing tracks. Couldn’t work it how to use the editor from the web site help. With tutors help I edited and saved a track but no idea where it got saved to? Without his help I would have been stuffed Would be very useful if there was also some dots to go with the tracks.

Nice loops, poor editing page

Great, professional, tasty loops.
But the editing page needs to be improved. I requested a pause/play button in the edit screen a few years ago and nothing has been done about it.
To stop a track for a second you need to leave the edit screen, go to the play screen, pause the music there and then go back to edit screen. In general the editing screen is clunky, it needs to be more intuitive, it should not be hard to implement some changes if all we do in the edit screen is typing some chords.
Also it would be good to have the ability to export individual instruments with one button in mp3 format.

Quality Sounds —a few tweaks needed

I have several of the SB apps and the sound quality is outstanding! I have run into just one bug and have a request for an improvement. First the bug:

I solo, then save each instrument track for exporting so I can use in my sequencer. I noticed however, that the crash cymbals added in edit mode don’t mute when the drum track is muted. I can’t tell which track they are being stored on but it’s not the drum track.

Now, a suggestion: When you are in play mode and open the mixer, retain the location in the track when the mixer was selected instead of automatically rewinding to the very beginning. For instance, if you are at bar 85, selecting the mixer button automatically brings you all the way back to bar one and you have to remember where you were and swipe left to get back.

Other than these minor things, it’s a great app to get very high quality sounds.

Crashes All the Time.

I pad Air 2, can not use any sesssion band apps, crashing with AudioBus and Ape Matrix, so much time spend trying to work.
