My husband and I loved Lovewick but the new update is very disappointing. We have been enjoying the 10 questions a day, generating question to submit for additional questions, and answering questions in the collections to guide our marriage conversations. However, with the update and Lovewick plus we have lost access to some of my favorite features without notice. While I understand the need to create a subscription and the desire to stay ad free, limiting to 1 question a day for free with no access to the collections we were using without notice is very disappointing. Having no notice of the change in structure until we used up our only question of the day has left me feeling disheartened. More notice before the change in subscription structure would have allowed us to have a conversation about financials and see if we could afford a subscription. However, without that notice I am left without access to the features I would like to use.

We sent an email a month in advance to anyone who had used the app in the last 6 months and posted on TikTok and IG, but it's very possible that the email went to spam and you don't follow us on socials -- I do sincerely apologize that it felt abrupt and can understand that would be disheartening. Essentially the email said that our small team of 3 has offered the app 100% free for as long as we could, and all content in the app is still free in the new version if you're patient. If a question a day doesn't feel like enough, you have the choice of 3 price points: $29.99 per year (~$2.50 a month), $14.99 per quarter (~$5 a month), or $9.99 per month. This optional subscription covers both you and your partner. This has been a labor of love, and we’ve only ever had the intention to help you have great conversations and experiences that bring you closer. I hope this provides more context and that you’ll reconsider using Lovewick. Thank you!My boyfriend and I downloaded Lovewick to navigate our interracial and inter-religious relationship. Lovewicks cards helped us learn more about each and also discuss what a future together could look like. We decided to go to formal couples therapy before we made our decision on the future. To our pleasant surprise many of the questions asked by our therapist were already discussed between us because of Lovewick. We felt so confident coming out of our therapy and knew we could rely on Lovewick for any turn in our future.

Honestly, we both have very taxing jobs and having an app like this turns our tired, date-night conversation into an incredible time of connection, laughter, and intimacy. We love that there’s both a free and premium option and, though we are so incredibly happy with the free version, it has been so useful to us that we are thinking of upgrading to the premium!

I get it. People are tired of subscriptions. But it’s not our fault that we live in a capitalist hellscape and need to make money in order to survive. Apps take time and money to create and run, especially quality ones like this one. The only difference between the free version before and now is that you get 1 question per day instead of 12. That’s it. Everything else is the same! If you don’t want to pay for the premium tier than simply do not do that. But the small, optional charge per month is not a good reason to leave a petty 1 star review on an app by people who actually care about what they’ve created and are simply trying to be able to keep it running. This isn’t Adobe charging way too much per month because they’re the industry standard and they can take advantage of their customers like that. It is not the same! Oh and also this app does genuinely rule.😂💖

The capitalist hellscape is no joke, and our small team had to start making money to continue operating the app... you nailed it.My partner and I i’ve been using Lovewick for about 6 to 8 months at this point and we love pulling up the draw a random card feature when we’re out at a restaurant just to get a conversation rolling and some connection in.
I also like the feature where you can save what your partner likes and I update it when I find some thing about them that I didn’t know that they liked so that I can remind myself to get it for them in the future, thanks Lovewick!

Some of the best conversations I’ve had with my partner were sparked by the questions from this app. We’ve used the questions literally since our second date and have continued even now as we plan for marriage.
We use the questions on long drives, while waiting in line, during date nights, and whenever we’d like to feel more connected. The app also has a ton of cute ideas for gesture and dates that make it easy to love each other in ways big and small.
The app is well designed, simple, and thoughtfully built. It’s more fun, casual, and sweet compared to many other couples apps I’ve tried. AND it’s much cheaper than the alternative apps as well!
I love other physical copy games like WNRS and Where should we begin as well, but those are literally a finite set of questions for same if not more money… whereas Lovewick is constantly adding!
The founder regularly does videos on social media to share her research behind the questions / app, which satisfies the nerdy part of me greatly.
The only suggestion I have to make the app even better is if we could specify what level of intensity or seriousness we’d like in the random question draw… sometimes we’re out in public and get a super deep question that we’d wish we could answer at home, for example.
Anyway, TL;DR, get the app… you won’t regret it!
We’ve used this app for free for years and I was surprised to see we now have to pay for additional question cards (which are excellent IMHO). But I’ve always wondered how an app with no ads or way to generate any income can exist. We get it, you guys need to pay your bills to survive. And the fee is so minimal if you do the yearly subscription! Please keep adding new features. This is the best couples app out there!

Appreciate you very much!My boyfriend and I had been using this app for almost 10 months and loved it. Our friends encouraged us to use it since they really enjoyed how you could get 10 random questions a day on different topics. Getting to answer MULTIPLE questions a day allowed us to open up conversation on topics we might not have discussed as in-depth. Unfortunately, we tried to answer some questions today and after one, we were told that we had to pay to be able to view more questions. All of the categories are locked unless you pay. This is honestly disappointing that such a great app has become this. I will NOT be paying for this and we’re in search for a replacement that doesn’t randomly update and put monetary stipulations on it. Hopefully they go back to how they were in the future.

We used to read them in the car and have great discussions about them. But recently they’ve made it so you can only do one card a day unless you pay 10 bucks a month which is ridiculous. I understand that you have to support the small team but only one card a day unless you pay is unbelievable and it makes it unplayable. Going from ten a day without paying to one is such a huge reduction and it’s just disappointing.

We didn't want anyone to feel trapped into upgrading if it was a financial hardship, so we made sure that you still get a daily question free. Transparently, we have to make a living... we've offered Lovewick 100% free for 3 years, ad free, with a team of 3 people.
