I’ve been using EXR for about a year now and have enjoyed countless sessions. I’ve been rowing on the water for 20 years and this storage is a great addition to me land training.
I screen mirror my device to my smart tv so I have a big view in front of me when rowing and it definitely takes the doldrums out of long slow sessions. Seeing the start and end gates for my intervals when training is so cool too. I used to row on the Charles, so going along the routes and seeing the sights and bridges is a lot of fun and really adds to the experience.
The developers are publishing updates regularly and add new challenge goals every month. I’m hoping they will continue to add more real life locations and also more C2 ranked competitions pieces like 5k/6k and hour rows to the existing competition options.

The only workout I got was one in anger management. I know it the app because I tried a different one and it worked fine. I was really looking forward to the games but I guess I will wait for a better version.

Kind regards, the EXR TeamI have used this app for the past year. It was neat at first to row the charles river, but that loses it's excitement fast. The app functions well and works well with my concept2, but the workouts never seemed to push me hard enough. The 'advanced' workouts were just longer distances, but seemed like there was no way to get a more intense workout. My heart rate never gets above 130 anymore no matter what I do or it says I'm rowing too fast or hard, time to move on.

Hi there, EXR adapts to your fitness. To do so, you need to take an FTP test regularly or simply change it in your settings. Once updated, the workouts will be more demanding.Preface: I hate working out indoor. Treadmills, bikes, rowers all bore me to tears. Watching shows I zone out and have bad workouts. Zwift is the answer for biking, and I've been looking for a 'Zwift for rowing' app for a while.
Well, this is it. Early versions crashed on me, but this things is stable now and very fun and enjoyable. Wish there was more social aspect like Zwift, but I do see other rowers occaisionally. The FTP based workouts, metronome, and gamification is well done. Totally worth it if you want to row, want good workouts based on your fitness level, and like something to keep you engaged an on task.

However, I have two problems in particular. 1. My Bluetooth rowering machine synced seamlessly. But the avatar moves without rowing. Surprising how annoying this is. 2. Even with data display set at “large,” the data is too small to read at a glance.

I love this app because it pushes you but within reason. What I especially appreciate is that the exercises give you a stroke rate but also a power rate within a certain amount of time. I had tried other apps but I’ve that this one is the best for me! If I wanted to ask anything more it would be that it would show you what the stoke rate was for each exercise.

I am still amazed this company is charging money for this software but can't get a simple protocol working while everyone else can. Just amazed at this still. These developers should be ashamed of themselves. Charging money for a half finished software. Just greedy and lazy if you ask me. This software will never be what they want it to be and mostly because they are all about making money now, not making the best rowing software.

As mentioned in our email exchange, your rowing machine brand has been unresponsive regarding our partnership proposal which is why your model isn't supported yet. However, we're still pursuing a partnership as we aim to support your erg and therefore deliver a great training experience. Kind regards, The EXR teamI've been with the app for a few years now and it has gotten more mature and less buggy. Addition of ghosts and making other rowers visible on the same course was a major upgrade. 3D printing an iPad holder to mount to my rower made the experience even better. Still not totally immersive, but part of that is because my ipad is relatively small. Could be made even better if more split info was added and more notifications were made of milestones or speed improvements compared to previous times rowing the same workout.
Even my kids want to row now seeing the game play aspect of this.
