I love the impasto effect. I import my paintings from procreate and paint over with artrage and it works so well.
  • Huge Step Up

Been using the original version for 3years, and this latest Artrage is way smoother than the previous
  • Seriously lacking

program is not very user friendly
-should be a two finger undo like every other painting program
-also should have option for a blank white canvas
    -needs way more gesture controls

All in all seriously lacking expected more from them as the computer version is great

However one plus is the reference image option

  • Improvement over predecessor

It appears that Vitae is just a slightly less buggy/more stable version of the last iPad version of ArtRage. Rather than fix the last version, they charged for a new one. I wonder what they’ll call and charge for the next service patch.
  • Lots of potential

Sure, there is not a massive difference between this and the old app, but there are slight improvements if the artists looks for them. Love the depth slider and the real oil effect it creates. Like all such art apps, we need to experiment and explore. Only one criticism....not enough oil brush variety...great app though Well done Artrage team.

  • Poor optimisation

I have used ArtRage for more than 10 years.
This version is the same as the previous iPad version with a few minor additions. Not worth calling a new app!
It is still the most laggy painting app out there, why haven’t they done anything about that? Surely if you release a new version it will work without lag, I have the latest iPad Pro!
You cannot adjust the brush size with a slider, what an error, every app has that function!
I hope they release some updates because it’s note worth buying as it stands.

  • A good start … maybe

We’ve waited a long time for an ArtRage Mobile update. And we get this as a new program... not an update. Ok, you so maybe it was a re-write from the ground up. FWIW I use the desktop version and frankly it’s outstanding. This one ... lackluster.... I use a 10.5” IPad Pro with Apple Pencil I. Pros: ~somewhat larger canvas spaces ~Being able to make the tools larger than 100% also a con, see below. ~Option for real color blending on the color picker ~More settings for individual brushes ~More layer settings ~. Theres the clone tool which some may like. It doesn’t really do much for me. Overall - felt more like an update than a new version. Should have been transparent about that. Cons: ~Need a slider for the tool size that goes all the way up to the 500%. The slider going up to 100% then having to type in the tool size >100% is cumbersome. ~maybe it’s just me but I wasn’t getting much tilt response. I use the Apple Pencil. ~Need the saved files to appear in Files folders like other art apps. ~Of all the things to bring over from the desktop version we still can’t create our own custom brushes. ~ I understand there are some new touch gestures but I could figure them out. Maybe some help documentation would clear that up. Summary: It’s not horrible for the price paid for it, but it’s a little underwhelming from a company that produces such a good product for the desktop. I’m going to be optimistic and believe that this is a step in the direction of a really solid final product.

  • Don’t waste your money

ArtRage has long been a favourite app of mine, but the old app was dated and badly in need of an upgrade to take advantage of today’s advanced devices. This is not that upgrade. Sure you get a bigger canvas (still tiny in comparison to other apps) and a few of the tools have an extra slider or two, but there is only one new tool (a cloner I have no use for), the ability to increase the brush size to 500 (although you have to type this in yourself, no convenient slider here) and that’s about it. An absolute and utter disappointment. They haven’t even bothered to implement the by now practically industry standard two tap undo. It’s just the same old clunky app complete with antiquated interface and gallery. I think it’s scandalous the developer chose to release this as a separate app at full cost and I don’t think I’ll buy from them again. There are several other, much more advanced, “traditional” painting apps out there that are worth your money. Oh and I know it’s “new”, but it’s buggy, really, really buggy, especially when you increase the brush sizes above 100%. All in all a poor show....

  • Superb New ArtRage App 👌🏻

Glad to have a new ArtRage app again, thank you very much. I like the few new tools and features as well. If you enjoy art and painting i highly recommend this uniquely cool application.

Many thanks to the developers for this new app and God bless.
