Photo album, needs fixing up a little.
I think the app is amazing, very handy and useful it has made my iPhone look a lot better, however I think the photo album section is very buggy, obviously the photos change ever so often however it always just seems to goes through certain ones all the time instead of going through the whole album and shuffling up a little bit (tends to get a little boring looking at the same 4 photos when you have multiples ones in the album.) I do wish there was some more options to this as well, maybe for example: being able to change the timing which it flips through the photos would be a nice little feature to have with this for the possible upcoming updates.

Super super good
I think everything is good and i haven’t experienced any glitches or anything but i have a few suggestions. Sometimes I accidentally make a new widget I do not need to use and I think it’s a bit annoying how it’s there without being used. There should be an option to delete the widget, if there isn’t one right now. And it annoys me how i cannot order my widgets. It might not annoy anyone else but I would feel more organised if you could order it. And for the “photo widget” section there could be an option to have a video widget. It can be a short video and it could replay every time you go onto that homepage on your home screen. Thank you :)

To be honest when I got the new iOS update and downloaded the app it was great ! But then I saw that my widgets started to turn grey with lines. I saw another person having the same problem and I did the same thing. I even deleted the app and it still does it. I’m kinda upset that the fact that I was super excited that my home screen finally looked decent instead of my apps being all over the place. But I refuse to leave this ugly gray squares on my home screen I hope this is a glitch or something. I am paying for the subscription so I expected some kind of great experience out of the app but I hope they fix this soon. If they don’t I’m canceling the subscription and deleting the app !!! But overall the app is okay i would recommend if you want something very typical and just your daily things you want to access or see the time, battery percentage, etc.

Small issue
Hi, I have a a little problem with this app. I’ve seen many reviews like this but they all said that they have a grey screen. Mine is black. Let me just tell you the story. So I just got this app 2 days ago because I didn’t know there was an iOS 14 and I was shocked so I download the update. I also downloaded this app too. I was looking for a reference on safari while it was loading. I finished with my widget. The next morning, I wanted to change my picture so I took a picture and upload it to here but the screen is just black. I’ve tried it on many pictures but it’s still the same; and all pictures are brand new, fresh out of my camera roll. If you a creator of this widget app, please fix this issue. I really like this app overall. I think it’s really convenient so I kind of recommend this app.

App with great potential but significant problems
This review is particularly for those looking to pay for the premium subscription. I decided to pay because I really wanted a weather widget to match my Home Screen aesthetic and this was the only customizable option I could find. At the beginning the only issue I had was that I wished when you clicked the widget it would take you to more detailed weather info, but I understood this is not a weather app so I was fine dealing with that. However, I started to notice that the weather is not accurate to my location. It is significantly off from my local weather and I made sure to double check in the app that I had the right location and settings selected. Because of this, I will be cancelling my subscription to the premium services and cannot recommend until the issue is fixed, but I will continue to use the non-premium version for the photo widgets.

Good until...
This app was good and let me design my Home Screen just how I wanted to but after a while all my widgets just turned grey and I couldn’t figure out how to change it so I ended up resetting my phone and re-downloading the app

I just wanted to make a suggestion for a better improvement for this app and the reason why is because I was going through the reviews.
💡maybe remove the “widget-smith” name at the bottom of each widgets that has been added to the Home Screen.
💡more options like people can choose their own picture and a text in there as well.
💡less time consuming by allowing photos to turn into widgetsmith but go to the app in order to add it to home screen.
You don’t have to do these things it’s just an idea and something that I thing can improve the app - but yous who made it make that choice.

Does the basics, but needs a few revisions
Overall, the app is good. I think it does its job well enough, but it’s very simple. I like the customizable nature of the app, my home screen looks a lot better since downloading it.
The only technical issue I have encountered is that my large widget for my reminders seems to glitch at random points and not list any of my scheduled items. This is not a constant issue, but it does happen every once in a while, as well as taking a while to update once I add a new reminder.
The only other complaints I have are a matter of further improving aesthetic and perhaps some future ideas, none of which are deal-breakers for me, but would improve my experience with the app. I don’t particularly like the battery widget as it shows only the battery and not the percentage, which seems almost useless to me, as I have the same symbol showing in the upper right corner of my screen at all times. I also wish that the widgets did not say widgetsmith underneath them (similar to how the name of an app shows under its icon), I would prefer they have no title/caption. My third wish is that the widgets could have customizable shortcuts, so that when I select them, I am taken to the app that corresponds to the widget, rather than simply opening the widgetsmith app.
Nonetheless, I recommend this app. It makes me happy to see my home screen much more organized and customized to my aesthetic. I much preferred this app to others similar to it.

We are working on finding any other areas where we can improve on our end (and iOS14 keeps getting better too) so hopefully you'll have fewer glitches in the future - make sure to update the app as we ship updates! Thanks too for your suggestions about the battery widget. Unfortunately (like we note in the FAQs) we can't remove the label (it's an iOS14 system requirement) and we can't incorporate shortcuts either (sorry about that!) Dave the developer is doing what he can to creatively give you more and more features within the scope of new development options - stay tuned!
Very good but bug fix needed
The app has so many customizable options and its the best app to customize on an iphone so far! But one minor thing is that when I added all my widgets on my Home Screen and restarted my settings for another thing for my phone the next day all of a sudden all my widgets are blank with just black except for one and I tried every fixes I searched up but it doesn’t seem to work and I think it’s a bug in the app that is doing this. Please consider this and make a update that would be very appreciated thank you. 😊
