  • Its a toy and doesnt work as an auv3….

  • Urgent: A Melodic Gem in Need of a Bug Tune-up

I have been using this app for quite a lengthy period now, and its ability to facilitate musical creativity has been nothing short of delightful. However, there’s a persistent bug that’s been playing the off-key note in my otherwise harmonious experience. Despite being a paid app, this particular issue seems to have been left unresolved for too long which is somewhat disappointing.

The bug manifests itself in a rather irksome manner—causing one of the pads, used to generate musical notes, to stick. The only workaround so far has been to completely close the app and reopen it, which, as one can imagine, significantly disrupts the creative flow. It’s quite a consistent issue, and although I don't recall the exact trigger, it happens frequently enough to be a noticeable annoyance.

I’ve observed that I’m not sailing this rocky boat alone—numerous other users have reported the same issue. It baffles me that despite being a paid app, and having a community of users pointing out this flaw, the bug remains unfixed. While the app shines in many aspects, it’s essential for the developers to address such issues promptly to maintain a smooth user experience, especially given the financial investment involved.

The app continues to be a vital part of my music-making journey, and I would love nothing more than to see this bug fixed in the nearest update. Until then, the discord of this persistent bug continues to mar an otherwise stellar app.

  • Could be so much more

As it stands this is a fun little app, easy to use and loaded with potential. What it desperately needs is connectivity, preferably AU3, and a way to simply edit patterns. Gives us that, as an IAP, and the app immediately translates from a toy to a useful tool.
  • Fun to play with, could be more useful

I was hesitant to buy this app, but now that I did, I’m having lots of fun with it. One recommendation, allow each pattern to cycle through to the end before beginning a new pattern. Otherwise you get awkward breaks or silences in between patterns. Also, hoping to see more patterns as presets in the near future. And MIDI support.

  • So much fun! But recurring bugs need fixing!

This app is so much fun to play with, but inevitably after playing for a few minutes I always get hit with a bug that makes me have to quit and start over. Here are a couple of recurring issues I’ve experienced every time I’ve used it:

    1) No matter what I do, I’m not able to type file names or tempo numbers. If I try to select the tempo and type in a new tempo, it lets me type 1 digit and then it immediately resets itself to the tempo it already was. So I have to change the tempo slowly by hitting plus or minus over and over. Same with file names if I try to save my setup: it only allows me to type a single letter, but then automatically resets the file name to whatever it was.

    2) At some point while jamming, a note will always get stuck and the only way to stop it from playing is to quit the app and restart.

I hope these notes are helpful in getting these bugs fixed! Thanks for all the great apps!

  • More features requested

Please make compatible with apps like GarageBand & Cubasis to at least record our playing of your instruments as an audio unit or 3rd party instrument. -You can make it not allow us to record your actual loops, perhaps, because of copyright concerns. Thanks in advance and will increase my rating.
  • I like, but needs fixing

The sounds in this app are pretty cool! This is a nice lil music app to use for jotting ideas, and songwriting. There is only a couple of things that it needs.

1.) The app crashes when I’m adjusting the octave. Could this be fixed, please?

2.) It would be nice if there was a record sync feature to where the app would start recording when playing the first note. This would be helpful for when exporting WAV to AudioShare, it would save time having to avoid trimming excess empty space. Hope this makes sense.

3.) Last but not least, please also add metronome 🙏🏾

Anyway, other than the suggestions I mentioned up above, I like this app and will increase the review rating if the crash is fixed, as well as possibly adding those two features.

  • Nice start

There’s something like this inside GeoShred: a backing track with the key/fretboard ‘tuned’ to the right key. Sadly, GeoShred only provide a handful which is a shame because they’re really good.

JWJ provides you with tons of backing tracks and you can opt for automatic bass, drum and chord accompaniment or play them yourself. There’s also the ability to tweak the volume, reverb and echo-delay for each facet - which can actually transform some of the supplied synth sounds into brand-new ones.

The ability to change key and scale modes is lovely and there are some rather exotic scales in there - not just the usual Lydian, Phrygian, Stygian etc. Sometimes the synth doesn’t quite jibe with the scales though and you get some accidental atonalities.

I’d really like to have a built-in synth where I can create my own sounds. It doesn’t have to be deep. A couple of oscillators, LFOs, ADSRs etc would do and, of course, the ability to save as new presets. Or tie-in with one of the developers own synths - all of which are wonderful.

I’d really REALLY like to be able to use this as an AUM (as you can do with all the other apps this developer has created), so that I can patch in sounds from my other soft-synths, drum machines etc.

I’m crossing my fingers that this is just the beginning and feedback will bring further developments of what is already a very promising start.
