My son LOVES this app and has learned so much from it. Support was also great—recently ran into a glitch and they were great in responding, fixing the issue, and then following up when issue resolved.
iPad fail but game is good
Can’t open on my iPad, crashes every time I try to load it. Otherwise great app on my phone. The learning features for writing, speaking and listening are great. Just wish it would work for iPad for the bigger screen for my kids. Please fix bug.

Amazing Chinese game for oversea parents
My kids and I love the game. First of all, I like that the app is in English as I’m not a fluent reader. It makes navigating the app so easy. My kids enjoy the little games and don’t feel pressured to learn Chinese while playing. The games are simple but effective. The kids can trace the characters which makes it less intimidating. There is also a speech function in the game which makes it so fun to practice speaking. I am thankful for the sensitivity function as I can lower it for my younger one who doesn’t speak as clearly. My kids favourite part is playing with the kitties in the playroom. It gives them motivation to keep learning more characters. The kitties voice are amazing and a good add to the game. They are kids! My kids really enjoy it. Thank you for making such a fun game for my kids to learn Chinese!

My child loves exploring all the worlds. Having tasks and missions keeps the interest level high. What a great way to learn Chinese.
Fun, engaging, useful app to learn Chinese!
I have been looking for an interesting app to supplement teaching my Canadian-born 8 years old Chinese. While he speaks Cantonese well, reading and recognizing characters has been a challenge. I also find it challenging to have a systemic way to introduce new words to him. And Maomi stars helps us in this journey!
We have been trying Maomi Stars for over a year, my son likes that for every word:
- he can listen to the word and listen to how the word is used in a sentence
-he can trace the strokes of the words, and understand how the word should be written
He LOVES that there are many Maomi/kitty that he can choose from to interact with, and each kitty uses the voice of a real child which makes him feel like he’s playing with a friend. Most importantly, the “rewards” and “gold coins” he gets from learning new words are fun as he can use them buy cake and toys for the kitties!
I notice a recognizable increase in my son’s vocabulary, reaching close to 350 words. And he now really enjoys learning Chinese!

The best Chinese learning app! 🌟❤️🎉
My son’s absolute favorite Chinese learning game that he asks to play all the time! He loves the gamified way to learn new words, taking care of the kitties, collecting gems and CAKES and exploring to new worlds. And loves the positive verbal encouragement the narrator gives. 🤣 I love its comprehensive approach to learning new words - from how the words are pronounced, used and written in proper stroke order. The recall / review aspect is essential too. And having Simplified and Traditional character AND spoken Cantonese options in one app is a serious dream come true. I can’t say enough good things about this app!!

Fun way to learn Cantonese (and Mandarin)

Finally - a fun app in Cantonese (and Mandarin later)!
My girls (age 5 & 7) love playing this. I like how they are exposed to writing (tracing strokes with their fingers) without realizing it. I like the speaking component as well - and how it reinforces the correct tones.
The adventure part is cute too. My girls like to travel to different places on the map.
As a parent, I like that there’s an option for learning Zhuyin in Mandarin. I like reviewing it so I can read the Taiwanese Chinese books faster (I switch between Mandarin and Cantonese in my head).
I limit screen time at home but I’m a tiny bit more relaxed if the app is educational and helps with their Cantonese / Chinese learning.
I love the curation of the basic Chinese characters in the app. It complements their Chinese curriculum well.
