I really really loved the first one and played it daily. This game you’re only allowed two workers for each element. Not only that the harvest days are fewer and with the mine, you have to use coins instead of food. The first PC you felt like you were making progress. This one not so much.

Enjoyable game to a point
While the game should be renamed Puzzle Craft 2: The Search for Cash, it is a good game. I really miss the first one though. I’ve been playing it for several weeks and I agree with other reviewers that you can have a good time with it up until the third town. Personally, I refuse to spend good money for virtual currency. I did it once for one of the Farm games and was ashamed that I spent so much.
As I’m getting to the end of the 2nd town, I play it once a week. I go into the game and collect game gold for 5-6 days and maybe play for an hour before I have to save up more.
I will recommend that you find out what the next town requires before you leave your town to go there because you will cease to have any more money coming from the buildings. I found this out too late and had to start over.

Love not seeing ads
I love that this is one of the few games that doesnt have those pesky ads and aren't a misleading game. I prefer the first puzzle craft only because they didnt limit workers for hire. I can only hire 1-3 per role and it's incredibly limiting. I would have paid $3 for 10 workers if that limit wasn't there. Their loss. Love the tool limit expansion. Might consider that one but I get more satisfaction from reducing long chains and seeing more on the board.

Developers have abandoned it….
Used to be amazing. Giant paywall at end of 3rd village now, no way to grind through to unlock what’s needed to progress realistically. $10 to progress, but no longer actually connected to a buyer….servers are shut down. Wish I could keep playing….it’s got really enjoyable game play.
It’s not downloading
I used to love this game ages ago and I’ve been looking for the game for months and I just found it again but now it doesn’t download, it starts to but then it crashes and says unavailable to download

Oh…hello!
I really enjoyed the original Puzzlecraft, the way the gameplay and your objectives gradually shifted the further you got in the game. This version is a little more obvious and cash-driven but so far I haven’t needed to spend any real money to make good progress. It’s still a fun mix of match-3 and strategy, and those random citizens are so cute!

Disappointed
I loved the first Puzzlecraft. The progression was nice and consistent, you never felt stuck or that you had to grind. I also loved that it was in portrait mode. And you paid one time for a full/complete game. You had a little flexibility with how you advanced and the game gave you the chance to think outside the box like stocking up on fertilizer and chicken-feed to get a full screen of chickens to collect, that was always fun.
Puzzlecraft 2 does the opposite of that. It’s free to play which is fine, but you start to feel the weight of all the ads being thrown at you. I despise this type of game. And was disappointed to see a game that I loved turned into this. I wish I could just play the original Puzzlecraft but that hasn’t been updated and is not supported anymore. I’m not a fan of playing in landscape mode, but that’s personal preference. I still wish the option was there.
Finally the worst part, this game has some major roadblocks in progression. You’re very limited with how many people you can hire, how many tools you can craft, then there are gates where you can’t move to a new map unless you unlock certain species of animals/vegetables. Just to get to the 2nd village is a huge grind. I put a lot of time into this game and have uninstalled it twice. Then the game is shoving pay-to-advance packages. “Can’t get to the next map? You can bypass that by using 100 gemstones”. But you barely have 7 gemstones, and conveniently you can buy 100 for real world money. It will take me maybe 10 hours of grinding to unlock the 2nd type of pig and eggplant. And then the final straw, the game suddenly adds weeds or prickly vines to the game which is just slowing my progress down even more. I didn’t reach a new level or map. Why did this new complication get added? Was I taking too long to get to the next map, was this artificially added to make me give up and spend real money to get around it? It seems awfully suspicious.
This was such a disappointment for me, that I’ve had to write this review. I don’t think I’ve ever left a negative review, but seeing a game I loved turned into something that seems like a money grab infuriates me.

Lost all progress.
I was level 45 and on the 4th town. I had to get a new iPad and found out the data was non transferable due to some issue between the developer and EA. All in app purchases were lost, but as a consolation we are offered 10 runes and 500 gold coins? I lost hundreds of runes. Complete waste of a good game.
