This app is a scam

BEWARE The ads are misleading, and when you sign up for the trial, they deduct funds immediately. To make matters worse, they charge you for a monthly subscription just three days later. Avoid this app!

A great app for beginners in plants, a must have

This app has been a total game-changer for my plant care! It’s super easy to use with helpful reminders for watering, fertilizing, and rotating my plants, which has made a big difference in keeping them healthy. The plant identification feature is spot on, and the care tips are perfect for avoiding common mistakes like overwatering. I love how customizable it is, allowing me to track all my plants and set individual care schedules. The app’s sleek design makes it a joy to use, though I’d love to see even more plant species added to the database. Overall, a must-have for plant lovers! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Scam!!!

Charges £7.99 for a weekly subscription! Don’t be fooled by the 5 star reviews clearly from a long time ago. The said they would inform me when my trail period was up before taking money but they did not! Just took my money! Customer service is rubbish! The app itself isn’t great could even identify all the plant and said plant were sick and yellowing when they wasn’t. Or just kept saying to give fertiliser!

Update: I made sure to cancel this ridiculous subscription in the app but they still charged me £7.99 the week later !!! I had to physically cancel through the App Store and complain! The customer service is rubbish too!

Basic

Good to identify plants but that’s where it stops. Tried this app and it recommends the same resolution after asking about 5 questions. Never does it just by simply scanning as shown in the video. Also the recommendations are nothing spectacular; water but don’t over water, sunlight, prune dead leaves, like that is the general stuff everyone does anyway! Cancelled during free trial, thank goodness never paid out any money for this rubbish!

Avoid this app it’s a scam!!!!

I did a trial, realised the app doesn’t work for me and cancelled the subscription…. But then realised they have been charging me weekly for a PREMIUM subscription!!!

There’s no way to cancel it. In the app under „manage my subscription „ the only thing you can do is to upgrade but no chance to cancel.

I emailed them TWICE and nothing they are still taking money off my credit card. They are literally stealing my money and I’m not sure what else I can do!!! I’d avoid this scam. Wish I never downloaded it

Already disappointed

The advertisement said identity and diagnosis problems and gave a price for a 7 day trial. So I signed up and paid the trial amount. Just to find out that you don’t get what they said in the advertisement without paying more money! So they real you in and get your money then charge more and more for other features that were said to available on the advertisement. So I identified my plant(which I already knew, then it says pay more for diagnosis. I can not recommend this app.

Misleading and disappointing

I downloaded this app as a ‘weekly trial’. As part of setting up an account I immediately unsubscribed as it was not what I expected. This was on THE SAME DAY as downloading it. 3 DAYS later I was charged $39. Upon enquiry as to why I have been robbed I am told it is not a weekly trial but a 3 day trial!! And directed to all these ‘policies’ that I apparently agreed to. Who actually reads the fine print? When you click on a weekly trial that is what you expect. I cannot believe they would mislead people this what. What a terrible way to manage a business. I am so disappointed. My family most definitely cannot afford a loss of $39 for something I unsubscribed from and deleted the very same day as downloading it. If they had any decency they would refund me however I am still awaiting a response.

Bad plant ID, scheduling, worse customer support

After 3 months of daily use, I’ve deleted this. My experience has not been positive *at all*, much as I wanted to like the app. My collection of plants is about 65ish (and growing!). I’m a moderately experienced plant parent, and was using the app to organize, keep track of care (misting, feeding, etc), and I liked the idea of features like the light meter (overly complicated, download one of the free apps), identifying problem areas (same comment), creating a schedule for daily care. Major problem I first encountered was the app couldn’t correctly identify 95% of the plants in my collection (google is much more accurate than PlantIn!). Customer support asked if I knew the names of the plants (of course I do), and advised me to override their system and input things manually (not a good answer, and a verrry time consuming task). Doing it that way meant that I had to input watering, misting, feeding etc manually, too. And no matter how many times I tried to time watering and feeding together, feeding popped up on a random day. By the way, I submitted a query to customer service and 5 weeks later (after a few automated emails from PlantIn thanking me for my patience) they’ll get a response to me soon. After reading several reviews I made the mistake of spending $50 on the premium membership. I hope others read this review first and try the app for awhile first!

First time user

This is hands down, the absolute most innovative, helpful, user-friendly, intriguing, and just PERFECT app I have ever had the pleasure of downloading on my phone! Every SINGLE thing you could possibky ask for in regards to plant knowledge, care, and research is in the palm of your hands. The results are always accurate and informative, while also keeping you interested to learn more and continue fiddling with the app to see what other cool features PlantIn has invented. I so badly wish the app could have a longer free trial period, or if the cost was a bit more competitive, however, I do understand and can only imagine how much time, effort, love, and care goes into creating such a magnificent tool to aide in a gardener’s success. Whoever created this app — just know that I think about how much I love you every day as I’m with my plant babies!❤️
