Der Feuerwehrverband (FVBB) bezweckt, das Feuerwehrwesen in den Kantonen Basel-Landschaft und Basel-Stadt zu fördern und weiterzuentwickeln. Er ist bestrebt, den Mitgliedern attraktive Leistungen zu erbringen. Der Stellenwert des Feuerwehrwesens ist zu erhalten. Dies soll insbesondere erreicht werden durch:
a) Enge Zusammenarbeit mit der Basellandschaftlichen Gebäudeversicherung (BGV) sowie der Rettung Basel-Stadt und der Gebäudeversicherung Basel-Stadt (GVBS).
b) Beratungen, Erbringungen von Dienstleistungen und weitere Unterstützung der Mitglieder.
c) Einbringen der Fachkompetenz in den Bereichen Technik und Strukturen sowie bei Vernehmlassungen im Bereich des Feuerwehrwesens.
d) Mitgliedschaft im Schweizerischen Feuerwehrverband (SFV).
e) Zusammenarbeit und Pflege guter Beziehungen mit den Mitgliedern, Behörden und zweckverwandten Verbänden, Partnern und Institutionen.
