  • Nice Fire Map

I’m just using it to look at the location of the L-30 fire that was burning in the Everglades. I see how people could use this to depend on critical information about fire movement and advisory statements. Thankfully, I don’t need to use it for that purpose.

  • Crashes when loading.

When you open/load the app, It immediately crashes. I thought it was just a glitch so I deleted and reinstalled, but as I went back onto the app it crashed.

    Developer Response

I’m sorry, and somewhat confused as to why this is happening for you. The app is launching normally for me, and the servers show normal traffic patterns so it seems to be working broadly. Please contact us at tcr.firespot@raynersw.com if you would like us to help resolve the situation.
  • Crashes on launch

Won’t even open. As I was downloading the app, I noticed some bugs related to this were supposedly fixed a few days ago but clearly it’s still an issue.

    Developer Response

Sorry you are encountering this. We haven’t had reports of crashes with the current version, so I’d like to find out why the app isn’t launching for you. Please contact me at tcr.firespot@raynersw.com .
  • Easy to use

App is easy to use. Shows fire perimeter without having to tap on the fire location/name. Shows wind direction and intensity which helps get an idea of what the smoke might be like in my area. So far seems like the easiest fire app I’ve tried.

    Developer Response

Happy to hear it. The wind overlay is getting a major upgrade in the upcoming version- stay tuned.
  • doesnt open

    just crashes
  • Update

After the update this app does not work!! unacceptable at a time like right now when Fires are at the worst time of year.
  • Loved it till it suddenly won’t work!

App won’t even open and I’ve deleted and reinstalled and everything. The last notice I received was that there are 4 new fires around me and I have a fire sun outside and the app won’t even open!

    Developer Response

We had a 3-4 hour outage on Sunday evening. Sorry about that. I got to work on fixing it as soon as I learned of it.
  • In accurate

Calfire more accurate in regards to personal and equipment
  • Amazing app - Exactly what I need

Wow, it is an amazing app!!! Finally an aggregated source to zoom in on a specific fire, or track what's happening in California and across the country, all in one place.

I have been looking for something like this, definitely a keeper on my iphone. Easy to use, keep me informed, as we head into the wildfire season.

  • Looks good

It shows a lot of information on the whole continent regarding fires. My only complaint so far is that the legend is incomplete. There are a lot of icons on the map (various encircled numbers) But there’s no mention of what they indicate. At first I thought it was the number of active fires in an area, then I thought perhaps the county’s numerical identifier…I have nor idea & there doesn't seem to be anywhere to find this information in the apps site.

Thanks for the feedback. To clarify: the numbers do represent total fires in the area. Orange ones are human-reported fires, purple ones are satellite-detected fires.
