Unprofessional Customer Service

Great concept to learn new language. I was trying this app out, as with all other apps there is a trial period after which you have the flexibility to cancel the subscription from your device. Lingo Pie strategically have put their subscription on the website, so you cannot maintain from your iOS settings or from the app. I was scratching my head to figure out where and how I would cancel my subscription while the time ran out and I was charged some $13. I was eventually able to figure out and cancel the subscription from their website. One of the founder reached out offering an alternative price/subscription to renew and instead I explained my situation and requested a refund, after which I never heard back. Granted, it was me who technically surpassed the free trial period by a day, but with request and explanation it should be clear why that happened. I will not recommend this app to anyone.

Wonderful

This app is really helpful for people to organize the words they learn when watching a film. Useful features. Definitely recommend

Amazing

As a former french language university student I think this app is amazing. It reflects a use of modern day technology to make learning or refreshing knowledge of a language easy. I hope they can add more languages as time progresses. Try and be wowed.

this app is more than incredible

i sucked at spanish
tried for years never could get it

got this app from a friend who became fluent through it and i’m understanding full length conversations now everything is starting to stand out and be emphasized in my mind

i think why lingopie works is because it allows you to PAUSE any word on the screen and it gives you the definition so it’s instant learning

i’ve been on lingopie for a brief month and have already added more than 500 words to my arsenal

imagine a year?

download this. pay the $50 (should be $500!!!!). it’s worth it!!!! trust me

also join Tandem to meet spanish speakers and practice the language through video chat — also worth $50!!!!!!

Excellent

I totally recommend it, I think the other bad reviews are coming from other apps because this one is awesome ✨

No way to cancel & they’ll charge 78 CAD

This app is ridiculous. I’ve tried to cancel but their instructions lead me nowhere. It doesn’t show up under Apple Subscriptions, either, so a few weeks after installing you’ll get dinged.

Why does Apple allow this?

Most intuitive way to learn

I adore this app. My Spanish has improved more in the past month of using it than it has from years of me using other language learning apps. I feel like I can finally understand how people actually use the language informally. And it’s FUN. The app is a bit buggy at times but I think this is because it is relatively new. Support this app so they can expand! Can’t wait to see what shows and movies they offer in the future!

Terrible service and bad customer service

I downloaded this app to try to learn Russian, but the sound quality was awful/unbearable. There was this weird feedback, similar to when a microphone is held near an amp and it gives off that annoying fuzzy sound, and it actually physically hurt my ears to listen. When I asked for a refund because of this issue, customer service just gave me a very standard response that the trial period had ended and I couldn't be issued a refund, despite the fact that their service was not of good quality. Good companies don't ignore valid complaints from their customers. Don't bother with this app!

Doesn’t give you the option to cancel the subscription on the “profile page”

I tried to cancel the free subscription almost immediately after I downloaded this app. However when I tried to do it through the app and on their website it doesn’t even allow you the option to. So I was charged $60 and cannot even try to cancel it.

Awful

Truly bad app, not fit for purpose. On iPad you get iPhone size videos (can enlarge, but not enough), switches from portrait (choosing video) to landscape (watching); suddenly threw me into doing some Spanish (I was trying the French). Levels are too crude (and silly), difficult to navigate. Assured me on Facebook that Russian is an option - it isn't. Guys - get the app right before you start taking money.
