Needs improvement
It is one of the better apps I’ve found for tracking movies I’ve watched and creating lists. I also like how detailed it is and how much information and cross referencing it has between movies and actors. But the app itself is glitchy. The areas below are ones I’ve noticed that need to be fixed.
It’s easy to select “watched” on a movie, but if it is a film you didn’t JUST watch and you need to change the date it’s difficult to do. You can’t just select the day you’ve watched it, you have to go into your watched history and side sideswipe to select edit. And that’s when the real problem begins because 9 times out of ten you can’t actually sideswipe, it just selects the movie/show and takes you into its page. The only way I’ve found to do it is to press and hold for a very long time before trying to swipe.
You also can’t edit your lists easily. Say you have a list of movies you want to watch and once you’ve watched one you want to take it off the list. Instead of being able to sideswipe the movie in the list to delete it you have to go into edit the list and then edit the select movies. Then you have to find the movie to delete it and if your list is long you may be scrolling awhile. In addition to this I tried to delete some moves once and it deleted the entire list.
The search party feature seems cool and would be useful if it actually worked. Instead it resets the filter after having already swiped on about 10-15 different movies and then it restarts at the beginning. In addition to this, it would be nice if the search party feature could be used by a single individual to help narrow down what they actually want to watch instead of only choosing a selection of multiple people are contributing to it.
The only personal info you can edit in your profile is the password. You can’t change your user name or email which makes it kind of a burner account unless you keep the same email active indefinitely.

Hi there! Thanks for the detailed feedback and for using AddToTheList. We'll try to reply to your questions/feedback here. 1. This has now been fixed in 3.5.6! 2. Update: You can now swipe on the title in the list to remove it from your list in 3.5.7! Here also, we will be adding a way to remove it from the list view itself, likely via a long press gesture. Stay tuned. 3. Search party is mainly meant to be used with other people. We haven't seen the reset issue you've mentioned. We have had the idea of being able to limit this to a particular list that the user has. What you could check out is going to Your Lists -> Shuffle. This has a somewhat similar view but it's limited to your titles and you can add filters there. 4. Username is not editable right now. E-mail can be changed upon request. See next question below. 5. Currently, the only way to contact us is via the Contact Us part of the website: https://www.addtothelist.com/contact_us We may add a quick link for this in the App itself. Hope this helps! We appreciate the feedback and that you're using the app!Good features, some bugs
Love the overall architecture, but the iOS app has an annoying bug: the add/edit title function doesn’t work at all - causes the app to freeze. I currently have to use the web version to delete a title from one of my lists. Hopefully the developer is still watching reviews - would love to get this fixed.Show lessDeveloper Response
Hi there! It looks like something broke in iOS 17 related to this. The latest version 3.5.1 has a fix for it! Thanks for using AddToTheList and we hope you'll update your rating after this fix. :)Great app
Would you please add an option to pay to remove ads please? They’re too copious and mess the app operation up. Also if there was a way of alerting that something was added to a list that doesn’t involve a large green banner at the top of the screen (temporarily obscuring the “back” button) that would be good. Finally, I have yet to figure out the way of REMOVING a show/movie from a list. You should be able to slide left or right on an item in a list to delete it.
Beyond that, really enjoying the app.Show lessDeveloper Response
Thanks for the review! You can also tap the green banner which will dismiss that banner right away. We have a plan to add some kind of ad-free option at some point in the future. To remove a title in a list, select the ellipses button in top right corner and then select Edit List. Then select Add/Edit titles and you can remove titles from that view. Update: The latest version (3.5.1) reduces the amount of time the banner is shown!
