Interaction is what I needed

Have tried a lot of language learning apps in the past and have been looking for something where I can get the feeling of speaking with real people, this does that for me. The dojo is super fun, hope to see more filters in the future.

Wonderful concept!

Cleo has been great fun! The concept of using voice recognition in language learning is about time, and Kleo has done pretty good job about it. Yes, it has a ways to go. Voice recognition on short words with long vowel endings needs work.

When Kleo does not understand what you say you can get a bit frustrated as you know you said the word or phrase correctly, and on the second try Kleo understands it perfectly. The scorekeeping is frustrating also because even when you get something right and Kleo doesn’t understand it, it’s counted wrong. Another issue is the wonderful feature for review of all the words you got correct or incorrect, but again even when you got it correct but Kleo counted it as wrong, it’s not a very accurate tally.

It’s definitely a fun language learning app!

So if you ever have troubles with recognition on specific prompts, you can use "Flag a speech issue" in the "Explore It" section of the interactive videos. We review every single submission and make updates accordingly. As the speaking prompts get longer and have more context, the recognition gets even better! Excellent app! Lots of fun!

This is a great app - I’ve been learning some basic Italian via some of the more popular apps and felt like I wasn’t making much progress. I feel like I’ve learned more in two days with this app than I have in a month with the others. Plus it’s lots of fun and pretty addictive. Glad I found this - I think it was from a teacher named Andrei on Instagram. Thanks!

Great app overall!

I love learning German with this app! It’s very interactive and fun. The only thing that I wish I had more of is the English being spoken out loud every time. As a blind person, I cannot always read the screen. It would help a bunch if the latest lesson could have that.

Extraordinary method

More content for Italian please. I’ve been a language hobbyist all my life with my great passion being Italian. This app is what heaven must be like. Bless you all. The pedagogy is spot on and the AI, speech recognition, etc. technology renders the experience surreal. The 3 main female teachers are extraordinary. The two younger women surely must have grown up bilingual—vernacular English and exquisite native Italian pronunciation. I love you too, Nonna!

I just started this app, and I absolutely love it. The personal interaction that the speak and response enables is wonderful. I am absolutely looking forward to the progress that I will be able to make utilizing this app. Tschüss!

Almost perfect…

Some changes needed:
1. In-app Request a feature doesn’t work
2. Being able to use the app entirely via audio and microphone; similar to Pimsleur audio lessons so you can use it while going to bed / for the blind.

Best language learning app ive used, better than duoLingo because it mimicks real conversations far better and an improvement over pimsleur because of the feedback

State of the Art Language Learning App

I would just echo all the positive comments from other reviewers. I have been using now for a couple of months. Have used multiple apps in the past, but lost interest, usually just after a few weeks. These lessons are short, fun, and I’m already speaking a little German.
Highly recommend!

Powerful!

This app does what I always needed but thought I didn’t need. It’s like you have instructors making you speak to them in your new language. It puts you on the spot. And their positive affirmations are actually very nice! Thanks guys.
