Painful to use, is the app even supported?

Why when I am reading the e-edition does the app suddenly stop and restart as if I had just opened the e-edition? Why when it does this must I force quit the app to get it to permit me to zoom in?

Since this app has not been updated in a year I can only guess these issues are because the Denver Gazette doesn’t care. The iPad operating system has been updated numerous times in the past year, but this app hasn’t needed to be updated to keep pace??

If you can’t keep up with the tech, perhaps you should rethink your business model.

Hard to use digital version

Try using the digital version used by the New York Times or the Denver Post. They don’t crawl all over the screen. They hold a picture still. Very hard to use. Content okay but application poor.

The app is unimpressive

The app is really poor. You can no longer download and read content offline, and if you are in the middle of reading the gazette e-edition and do something else, the app resets and you lose your place in the paper. Not a big deal but annoying. Not a fan. This app could be so much better.

A step backward

This latest DG app is a major step back. The e-edition reader is gone. When that is selected the app merely redirects to the Safari view. All the smooth app reading, scrolling, zooming is now gone. This needs to be fixed. Bring back the old app. Paper readers should improve, not take steps backward.

New app doesn’t size properly

The DG app with the white background sized a page to fit my iPhone 13 Pro Max and my old iPad and new iPad. The new blue background app now fits a page properly on my old iPad but I’m forced to read 2 pages at a time sideways on my new iPad with a larger screen. The new blue background app on my iPhone does not fill up the entire screen only slightly more than half the screen. It’s now very hard to read.

Is there any sizing function on the new app?

Previous app better

The previous app was better to read on a hand held device. New app has issues of page centering and bottom screen paper section flow.

Great news source!

Fantastic source for local, national and world news. Presented objectively without an underlying agenda unlike most other media outlets.

New electronic edition terrible

The new app has taken a huge step back for the electronic edition of the paper. The old version make it very easy to read the paper on a tablet with each page of the paper filling the tablet screen. That feature is gone and it is very less convenient to read. Would like to see access to the old app reinstated or update the new app so that it actually works for reading the electronic version.

Real bummer that cannot download papers

I like to read the Gazette while traveling on a plane when I don’t have internet access. The old Gazette app worked great! The Gazette removed function and did not lower their price. Very sad… please re-enable the old app so I can download papers to read offline.

The “excuse” I was given is that some people are sharing their papers. Poor excuse and lazy. This problem has been solved by other media providers. Please put a little effort into solving the problem and not punishing all of your customers. You might just lose some of your good customers.

Good local news, definitely on the right however

I’m not sure who this paper is for. The local news is great, best there is for Denver. The editorials and the comments, however, are definitely conservative.

Things are out of balance. The facts of the paper good. The editorials and readership (as judged by reading many comments then readers are writing) are one sided with few alternative views.
