  • Very poor

You pay for features that are not available. A real ripoff.
  • Does one thing...well!

It still works on my old iPhone 4S. Better than a cuckoo clock!
  • Effective enough, good tool

Ads aside, which are on the rare occasion you actually have to re-open the app and adjust your chimes or something, the app’s been really useful; audible indicator of the hour. For anybody who’s a little time blind or just finds themselves hyper-focussed for too-long this works wonders.
  • Very basic

I hoped that the chime would be more traditional and have options but I can’t see any facility to be able to change it from a spoken notification
  • Simple and straightforward

When you need an Hourly Chime, this is so much easier to set up than using the native clock or any other clock app actually. It’s so easy to set up, so easy to turn off. And the Hourly Chime is not annoying either. This is easily the simplest and most valuable app that I have.
  • Simple app that works well!

So many apps try to do EVERYTHING and it can feel overwhelming. Hourly Chime has a single function: it tells you the time on the hour. Customization is limited to which hours you want called out, but I’m happy to keep it simple so long as it works!

I really appreciate that voice in the background keeping me aware of time passing when I get too focused on a task.

I realized just how much I’ve come to rely on it when it stopped working after a major iOS update. It took me a few days to become aware that I hadn’t been hearing the Hourly Chime (since it’s not an intrusive sound and requires no action on my part), but my brain sure noticed it was missing because I felt totally disconnected from time passing. (They got it working in short order.)

  • App doesn’t support the languages it has listed.

The app info says it supports a list of languages that it doesnt support.

The app only supports 14 languages.

It doesn’t include chime of sounds either, it’s speaking the time in a language only.

Here is the list of language that is says it supports but the info is not correct:
English, Arabic, Catalan, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Norwegian Bokmål, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Slovak, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Traditional Chinese, Turkish, Ukrainian, Vietnamese

  • Purchase 1x then always free

I purchased this a few months ago and it clearly states in my app that I BOUGHT it but when I try to change anything it SAYS I NEED TO BUY IT AGAIN. it’s pretty good and simple but it’s not allowing me to change anything without buying it again. I don’t care about the $. I care that it states one time purchase but then locks you out stating I have to buy again. Also it’s not flexible.

  • I don’t know what I paid for

Paid the 0.99 as I thought I would be able to access more advanced features - e.g having the notification sound with phone on silent- or customise to a simple chime each hour. But the ‘pro features’ it suggests you get access to? I don’t know what they are, the ads are just removed.
Main issue I have is that I like to have my phone set to silent which means this app doesn’t work for me.
