The ASTB app looks very helpful. I am a retired Naval Aviator and both my sons hope to follow in my footsteps. I took the AQT-FAR so I personally don’t know this system. Wish we had prep like this back in 1990 when I took the test back in the Stone Age. Really like the app. Just wondering if a stick and throttle (Bluetooth )will work for the stick/throttle training.Show lessSticky D.

Wasn’t sure how to contact the developer so just figured I’d leave a review. First, the UAV portion and Terrain Identification are worth the app on its own, but if you’re refreshing for some basic math concepts it’s frustrating when the answers aren’t present and the explanation is incorrect. The question I encountered (and took pictures of) was (11²/4)/(5^5 x 2). The right answer wasn’t present and during the review section after the fact it was solving for 5² instead of 5^5, which was presented in the question.Show lessDoug McGafferty

I used this app to study for the OAR. The only thing it really helped with was the mechanical comprehension. The math is all basic stuff and does not even begin to cover what is on the actual test. There are only test taking tips for reading comprehension. The OARs reading section dwells on military scenarios and instructions.Show lessKristenkayla18

I bought this app for $20 about a month ago for obvious reasons. I studied daily for several hours up until the test. I actually scored worse on the OAR section. The math in this guide is thorough but I didn’t see a single problem that was like the ones I had studied on here actually translate to the test.
I will say this app did help tremendously with the UAV section and a minute amount of ANIT information. These sections are really the only ones that benefitted me.
All in all I appreciate the effort put in by the developer(s). However, I do not know how people were improving their scores.Show lessBjaw1010

I will keep it short and sweet. I took the ASTB once with no prep and scored a 4/3/3. Discourages I was told by a friend to download this app. After a month of studying I took the test again and scored an 8/8/8. Absolutely one of the best programs you can get for ASTB preparation. The math , reading, and physics portions are all very thorough. The sim section is ESPECIALLY useful for the parking lot portion. The tracking portion for the joystick is useful for multitasking practice. The app clearly explainswhat is expected of you in each section and provides practice problems with how each problem is performed. It also categorizes each problem so you know where to look for extra practice problems.
My only complaints about the app is that it locks orientation on the sim, and when you take the test it doesn’t detail the explanations for all problems relating to math and physics.
My first attempt at the test was a 6,5,5 and a 52 on the OAR. With this app , along with some study books, I brought my score up to an 8,9,8 and a 57.
This app ABSOLUTELY is worth every penny. I cannot thank the creator enough. The app is hardly worth just the 6 dollars (I think) I paid for it. It really is a game changer!Show lessBugman1115

Overall amazing app. Uav portion is worth the money alone. But some answers for are wrong. Misleading, especially to those trying to learn the subjects for the first time. Question with 14 books is supposed to be 40 not 54. And the uav portion, the building in the middle should be a tent, not a building. Also it would be helpful to put in audio for the uav as the real test talks to you while you do it. Would be great to do emergency scenario training too.Show lessbp1968cam

I apologize for the incorrect or misleading test questions in the app. I will undoubtedly correct as many errors as I can find when I review the syllabus and test questions shortly. I absolutely understand how frustrating incorrect review/test questions can be when learning or refreshing your knowledge on the taught subjects. I have corrected the error with the MST question you have mentioned, and it will be correct when the next update is released. So far the app looks great. Very comprehensive! Only complaint I can see is Eventually the PBM sim bogs down my phone and begins to crash the app as too many targets generate. Even when it seems like I should have a lock it doesn’t shoot but keeps adding targets at a rapid pace. Best score is 11 so far. The trick is to stay ahead of the generator curve.Show lessStarlord271
