    Packs cost too much.
I haven’t pulled a single abyssal or deep or undead card, but I pull all the other colors from packs, like the game is intentionally not giving me cards for the decks I use.
The campaign is too difficult, basically making it unplayable for free to play.
The tutorial needs to be longer, because the clthulu starting and blue color decks are the weakest compared to literally every single other deck. A tutorial that lets you play using all the other decks would be nice so people can make a more informed decision before the screw themselves over.
A lot of the mechanics in the campaign don’t work.
The intimidate mechanic barely works, since whenever I face against it, I can’t defend against those monsters, but when I use them, everyone can defend against them, but for some reason it won’t let me but defenders against those monsters.
SO many issues. Please. PLEASE. Word on them, because this game has a lot of potential, and despite my 1 star emotional review, I do enjoy this game. It scratches the itch I have. But it’s SO frustrating. Its like you didn’t even test it for bugs or issues or balancing. Its WILD. Im gonna still play in hopes it gets better and yall are still updating and working on things. But man do these issues need to be addressed.

    Developer Response

I’m really sorry to hear that you’re not having a good experience with Nightmares! I’ll try to address each of your concerns in this response, but it’s also worth noting that we do have a bugs channel in our discord (link to the discord in the in-game settings menu). I try to have any issues reported in there fixed in the next release (typically within a week of being reported) Balancing the campaigns is something I am continuing to work on, the later levels of each campaign are intended to be very difficult to give players something to continue to work towards as their collections and skill level increase, but the goal was to make sure the earlier levels were easy enough that most players will at least make their initial gem investment back plus some extra winnings. Increasing the length of the tutorial is definitely in the plans, I am a solo dev working on Nightmares so major features can take some time but it is in the plans. The Cthulhu starting deck is actually the strongest of the starter deck options but it does have the highest learning curve. The packs do have duplicate protection, so as your collection grows you are guaranteed to see the cards you don’t have yet. There is an even distribution of each of the 4 realms (colors) in each set so no colors should be more favored than others, but again duplicate protection will guarantee it rounds out over time. Intimidate has been very thoroughly tested, creatures with less than 3 attack cannot block creatures that have intimidate. It works this way whether you are attacking with the intimidate creature, or you are being attacked by a creature with intimidate. If there are any more bugs you would like to report please consider using the discord channel and I promise they will be addressed in the next build after they’re reported. I promise you I am still working on Nightmares day and night and it is my continued goal to make it the best experience possible
  • unplayable

great art and music. gameplay promising. but takes 50 tries to get summoning to work, same with spell. attack phase nothing worked.

    Developer Response

I'm really sorry to hear you had a bad experience! During normal gameplay, dragging a card forward will allow you to play it (as long as you have enough mana for its cost). During the tutorial, however, the game asks you to play specific cards (to teach the player how to interact with each of the different card types). I will look to add additional panels to redirect the player in case they do not read the initial instruction panel and attempt to play a different card. I can see how this could be confusing and lead to frustration.
  • Recant

I’m recanting my previous statement and giving this trading card game five stars. For several reasons, I am doing this. to start the developer was quick and their response to solve the issue and is also knowledgeable of their product. as a client of this service, I am impressed at the mechanics of the game though challenging. However, to have nightmare creatures is awesome and I’ll add that the similarity between magic also brings me closer to this game.
