The LM-3000 offers the same quality and usability as a handheld or pocket light meter. You won't need any additional light sensor — the camera already got you covered. The LM-3000 comes with a clean and simple user interface and most importantly: No Ads! See it in action here: https://youtu.be/EJW7NfE2qCk The LM-3000 is even more accurate than almost any cheap light meter available. Besides that, its measurement algorithm delivers unrivaled sensitivity to capture the faintest lighting changes, empowering new possibilities in light pollution and health research. Developed and tested by optics scientists and engineers, calibrated using professional grade Class A equipment for all iPhones and iPads, the LM-3000 is truly a light meter you can trust! Download the app for free and use it for some time! If you like it, you may buy the unlimited battery pack to use the LM-3000 for as long as you want, even when switching to a new device. Your purchase allows us to provide an Ad-free experience and helps our small team to keep on building great apps to measure light accurately and easily. To allow the app to accurately measure light intensity (lux or foot-candle) you must use a diffuser. You can either easily build one yourself for free or get the easy-to-use Diffuser & Cosine Corrector accessory from our website (-> lightray.io/diffuser). • Not a spot meter but works

Caught traveling without a meter and been exploring iPhone meters. This one’s not much use to me bc it has no spot metering. But for a cheap to free app, it’s not bad. Not sure how accurate it is, but it’s probably close enough to get you in the ballpark if you’re shooting old film cameras and not interested in distant shots.

    Developer Response

Hi Vermiculite, Thank you for your feedback. Please beware that our app is not a light meter for photography but rather for general applications requiring accurate illuminance (lux / fc) measurements. Therefore, there are no features for spot metering in the app. Given that it’s used correctly (f.e. first of all using a diffuser), I can promise you highly accurate illuminance measurements in case you’ll ever need that 🤓 Best regards, Angela and the Lightray team
  • Great customer service!

Incredibly responsive and helpful company! They were extremely patient with my questions and went out of their way to make the information accessible and understandable.

Hey Light Peter, Thank you so much for this feedback! It's nice to know that our work is appreciated! 🤗🙏 Don't hesitate to contact us again if there's anything we can help you with 😊 All the best, Angela and the Lightray team
  • Annoying

Most annoying app ever. All you get is a message stating diffuser missing which does not allow the app to work. Can not even access in app purchases. Pointless.

    Developer Response

Dear Rob art critic, Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry that you feel that way. It's the laws of physics that a diffuser is needed to measure light. The pop-up is intended as we don't want people to get false data or spend money before they know how the app works. It's quick and easy though to build a diffuser yourself, all you need is a bit of paper and the instructions in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CaNiEF_QEmE Best regards, Angela and the Lightray team
