I downloaded the app to check it out, but after putting my information in I decided it wasn’t for me so I deleted it. I was looking at charges on my bank account yesterday, and I saw they had taken $120 from me without me even using their app. I looked into it and I guess as soon as you put in your information, they take $120 from you for a “membership” that you don’t even agree too. They claim they want to help beginners make money, but it seems like they are taking advantage of their vulnerable audience instead by immediately taking their money and not offering refunds. I did not even finish making an account yet and they took my money from me. I really thought these were people that wanted to help me, and I am extremely disappointed to learn otherwise. I would recommend looking elsewhere for investment help, there are people out there who really want to help you succeed when it comes to investing, but I don’t think this is it.

It does cost $120 for an annual membership, and the app lets you know that you have a 3-day free trial to cancel the app before paying for the membership. I simply wrote this down in my planner so that I could remind myself to cancel, if I wasn’t happy with the service.
But I am! It’s easy to set up recurring deposits and even easier to find companies you’d like to invest in. The personal investment playlist feature is very creative, and I like that you can search other users’ playlists, see how successful they’ve been, and copy their playlist to add to your own.
The app creators and developers have made it very easy to begin investing. If you’re not financially ready for the $120 membership fee, that’s understandable! But when you are, this is a great first time investor’s app. Hopefully the creators will add training/educational webinars soon!
this app was advertised as a learning tool in investing, however, I just became more confused that in order to learn how to do it, it seemed i was required to invest money already. I downloaded this app because I noticed the good reviews and i was interested in LEARNING how to invest.
i didn’t realize upon creating an account I would automatically start a subscription of $120. i do not currently have the money to invest, so I was not planning to use the app to begin investing and $120 is substantial loss that I need back.
it seems that even in the other reviews of this app that other people experienced this, and I didn’t think there would be a wait time to get in touch with customer service on an APP? I’ve been waiting for an hour for “someone to come back online” but I needed this to be resolved immediately! I also notice that it is stated that they are unable to give refunds but this is such a scam!! So many people lost $120 for an app that they haven’t used. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to use this app unless you want to lose $120 for no reason.
First, I love the story of this company. I’m a college student so knowing that college student started this fund and it is woman-based makes me very happy. Also love how different this app is by combining different investments to make what is called an investment playlist. I really enjoy that. As well as seeing what my portfolio looks like throughout the years so on and so forth. When I’ve dealt with other apps, it’s been very complicated and hard for me to decide what companies I want to make small investment into and see if I would gain anything back. But with this app, not only does it show you everybody who’s on the board, stakeholders, if you should, or should not invest at this time. I just really appreciate the background knowledge that you get from each company.
I’m an 18 year old girl in college right now, and Alinea has empowered me to start investing and becoming more interested in learning about stocks and different companies. I grew up in a fairly conservative household where we never really talked about finances. While my dad works in finance and has his own stock portfolio, he never explained it to me, and would even sometimes talk about how risky it was and how I should never engage in it. I was worried, even as I wanted to start investing.
I came across Alinea on TikTok and after doing some research, I decided to start of with $10. I love the way that it is so easy to use the app and how I can see how the stock has changed over time, but my favorite part of the app is the news articles and instagram story type of overview of news. It can sometimes feel really overwhelming to read the financial news because of the level of information, but Alinea’s sentence-summaries are super intriguing, and it has helped me understand and want to learn more.
It has truly changed my life and given me power to invest and grow in a way that I never would have imagined.
I had little to no knowledge of investing before using Alinea. The stock market always felt super abstract—even scary? It felt like putting my money into a void with no understanding of what I was doing and how it was working. This app not only acts as a space to invest my money, it also helped to educate me in the process. I love the truly accessible way that knowledge/information is presented to the user, including the interactive models used in the app. Information is explained in simple terms for the beginner, and I feel like I was given a patience to learn that other apps, content creators, etc. did not allow beginners. Definitely recommend this app, particularly if you’re new to investing and don’t know where to start!
I really like this app, It’s a great option for those who want to invest but have no idea how or where to start. Alinea really helped me get started on my investing journey and took a weight off my shoulders when I began to invest here. And slowly but surely I’ve been learning a bit more about investing and stocks each time I get in the app. It helps me understand why stocks rise and go down.
But, I do find myself having some trouble at times. Sometimes I feel like I haven’t seen all of Alinea. I do get a bit confused on how the app is formatted. I feel like a video showing all of what Alinea can do, where each button leads, and where to find certain things would help a lot.
With that said, this app is truly wonderful, and I know that with time one can get the hang of, both, the app and how to invest.
Been looking for an app like this for a while, and after seeing it on TikTok, so I decided to download it. The user interface makes it very easy to use and it’s aesthetically pleasing. The issue I have with it is the investor spend more time making ads, then actually being active on other platforms. I attempted to research before actually investing and getting into the app. They have a Discord that they aren’t even active on and the TikTok account that they have for this is mainly just add to not actually how to use the app or tips or anything. It could be a very good app, but I feel like I’ve basically had to go into this blind, because there was no one you can actually ask for about information. even on their website, the most recent article was from forever ago. I’m not quick to judge the app, but I am quick to judge the creators and their lack of presence. i’ve tried to get people to start a conversation in the Discord so that I could have an understanding and so that others can have an understanding, but it seems the creators are just not there nor do they want to check it. I want to learn more, I want to earn more, but how can I know what do to without some guidance?

Well Alinea took the stress right away, I was even hesitant at first seeing how simple everything was because I had really planned to learn the ins and outs of investing myself without having it all done for me. Alinea is the perfect balance of guidance and automation, and the easy user interface is an additional plus. I only wish that there was an option to get started with even less funds, it’s reasonable where it is but my industry is currently on strike right now and sometimes people want to get started from scratch. That’s a small thing though, this app is amazing and I can’t wait to get my family signed up!
Alinea is what will carry me to sustainable financial literacy. If you’re like me, you’ve never had anyone discuss the economy because it was too ambiguous, too unforgiving, and against POC/ low income folks. We now live in an age that we have access to apps like Alinea and can learn about the financial world on our own terms. You’ll learn the basics of investing that no one ever taught you. My favorite part of the app are the notifications about changes in the economy. What changes are happening at Apple without your knowing? What should you know about the future of online grocers and how it can bring your money up? Now is the time to learn. Download Alinea and also read some books on investing! I recommend Rich Dad Poor Dad and Girls Guide to Investing . Get that bag!
