Rugged
I’ve had many G-SHOCK watches over the past 3 decades and can wholeheartedly say they do exactly as expected. The durability is fantastic as are the features.
Ok. But….
This is ok. App has to be running for phone finder to work. If my phone and watch are connected via Bluetooth but the app isn’t running then what is the point of the connection? 2 stars.
Disappointing
This new app is complicated and appears to be designed by the marketing team and not the users/designers of the watch
Casio should go back and see how well the old app worked doing what it was supposed to do before including all these new gimmicks

Too much
Way too much selling schemes from Casio
Use my info for marketing
Like the old app much better

Linked with CASIO GM-B2100D
Brilliant, linked the App with my CASIO GM-B2100D and refer to the instruction manual all the time (my memory for using all the functions is rubbish :-) so referring to the manual is very useful). The App adds to the positive experience of owning the CASIO watch. Give it a spin guys you won’t be disappointed.

Does not send text message or email notifications to my watch
I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max and the only part that works with notifications for my DWH5600 is phone calls. I do not get text message or any other notifications sent to my watch. And yes - notifications is turned on in the app and the watch. Very frustrating. I tried to delete the watch and add it back, unpair it etc etc. it still does not send notifications to my watch.

Casio doesn’t care about the user.
The home page for the app is an advertisement for Casio watches. You need account and password just to be able to set time and alarms - what’s the point other than Casio collecting your data? Previous app was much better. I won’t buy a Bluetooth G-Shock again because of this app.
Terrible with fitness tracking
The watch is absolutely amazing but the app is very frustrating. It will link to Strava but it only actually sends data to Strava about 50% of the time. If you miss a day of syncing the watch to the app it won’t update past data on previous days. It will show you were inactive the day you didn’t sync. There needs to be a force sync option and the button that says “send to Strava” needs to actually function. Overall the app needs a complete overall for fitness tracking.

They created this app to scrape your data and sell it to third party vendors.
The previous apps for gshock and MRG watches was fine. The only reason to move to this new app is so Casio can spy on you and sell your data. There’s no reason you should need an app to get all the features your watch comes with. Further, that functionality shouldn’t require you to create an account and agree to have your location, contact and usage data sent to Casio so they can do whatever they want with it because you bought a watch.
I’ve been a gshock owner since I was a teenager. I’ve spent thousands of dollars on their products. I’m done. I bought watches, not spyware.

Does not compare well with old G-Shock Connected App
Less functionality - cannot get photos to geolocate against map tracks for example
Less intuitive to use - takes significant effort to work out how to do tasks that are not regularly repeated such as swapping time zones (which I do every few weeks at least).
Have to navigate past a front page that is full of adverts with functional icons hidden away.
