Very limited choices
I was gifted with the advent calendar, which was great, so thought I’d try this. It’s not worth it, even for free. You have to do all the mandatory improvements before you can customize anything, and when you finally get there the choices are very minimal, and don’t have the flexibility of the advent calendar. You can pick the style of a piece of furniture, but can’t change the color. This results very few choices that actually look good together, especially given the limited number of rugs to choose from. And the couch sitting off center, off the edge of the area rug, annoys me.
The illustrations are beautiful, but earning 26 points from playing a game, and needing 300+ to buy an improvement that doesn’t measure up, just isn’t worth the time.Show lessteaching 6
Lost all my points
I was gifted the Sussex advent calendar, and I fell in love. I love the graphics, music, games, everything about it! I decided to get the Country cottage and bought the kitchen expansion. I was excited about it but very disappointed at the points limit. Also, I had over 1000 + points last night and today I only had 5 points. Why did they disappear? It’s a little disappointing, since I was anxious to fix my kitchen. How do I get them back? I don’t know if there are any puzzles in this app, but it would be great if there were.Show lessMEGM 22
Addictive
The architectural notes are fun, and the recipes look terrific. Changing the landscape and details of the rooms is fun. With the two expansion packs there's enough enough variety in games of solitaire to keep me playing every day. I love the sheep going back and forth, the squirrel, and what is that bird? Couldn’t even log in
I downloaded the app and tried to log in with my account. The app repeatedly crashed before I could even enter my password. Deleted.Rarerah
Can get boring
Right I have completed the repairs on the outside and inside of the cottage. The only way I can progress is to buy the expansion packs, but judging by the reviews on this and the problems users are facing, I am put off doing this. So all I can do is play 3 games to earn coins to buy different furniture. Slightly unappealing I’m afraid.Show lessAbbafan1972
No sounds or music
Received garden expansion pack as a gift, installed it, but there is no sound or music, even though it is set to “play” and full volume under the music button.Green🌲
Beautiful - please keep adding to this foundation (updated)
The app and expansion packs are all beautiful as are all JL graphics. I really hope the designers continue to update and add games and activities. I bought both expansion packs which are improving. Now that the JL English Garden is discontinued, I have a suggestion—I’ve been using that every day for years just for the bird memory matching game (Pelmanism) which I love. I hope they add a memory game to the Country Cottage somewhere. Even the same one would do. The daily word scramble is good albeit repetitive. In the end, what shall I do with my 100,000+ points? Some people will like the kitchen Sudoku, but it’s not for everyone.Show lessNYC1564

I downloaded this app months ago- I played the games and renovated the cottage over time- I added the garden package- it took a long time to earn the points needed to renovate the garden as I wanted everything and the points needed to earn items was very high- the points to renovate have now been adjusted so it doesn’t take as long to renovate- the new kitchen addition has been a lot of fun- I was able to renovate all three kitchens with points I had saved up until the kitchen package was available- it was worth the wait- the videos each day were really fun- they can be rewatched in the activity calendar- it was really fun to have three kitchens to work on- if more packages are made and they are as fun as the kitchen package I am sure I will get them- the only thing I would change is the number of games- there needs to be a few more games or activities throughout each package to earn points- I have enjoyed the Christmas app that is made each year, the card app & the coloring book app- thank you Jacquie Lawson & staff for all of your efforts in all of you products! 🌻Show lessIhatemoderntechnology
Kitchen hiccoughs
I agree with all the criticism regarding loading Kitchen. I was disappointed to receive two ‘blanket’ emails but now that my purchase has been accepted, I am enjoying the new games and have completed all three kitchens. The twelve daily video accessories is a great idea. Hence 4 stars. Hopefully all the problems being experienced will be ironed out soon.Show lessWee Free
So Relaxing - Also bought Garden pack
Love this game. It’s beautiful, gentle and relaxing. Graphics are gorgeous. You play mini-games to earn points to clean up and decorate your cottage. I feel the points earning ability is paced just right. I also paid extra to download the garden expansion and very worth it in my opinion. Pro Tip: Make sure you have at least 200 game points available before you buy an expansion pack. I ran into a little bug since I had spent all my points before ordering the expansion pack. It was easy to earn more points in the cottage mini games then I was fine when I went into the garden expansion. Developers: Keep making great expansion packs & I will buy them. Would appreciate more catalog options in the future, ability to interact with pets, and things getting dirty again every so often so I can clean.
